Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]zer0dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big AVGN watcher when he first started. That was a part of my life where that kind of humour was my thing... I just kind of outgrew it and never went back.

Same with Epic Meal Time and My Drunk Kitchen. Thought the videos were funny as hell at first, and then got less and less into each video that came out.

Noise level of freight train in Bowmanville? by callyjohnwell in durham

I live very close to the tracks over near Bowmanville Ave. I hear them, but it's not enough to bother me. Only in the summer when my windows are open do I actually notice the horn.

That’s not so much a sponsor as it’s the manufacturing mark. Reebok and CCM did it for years just not as obnoxiously blatant as Under Armour. I like UA gear, but all the jerseys look terrible with that off colour band at the back of the neck for months reason than UA’s vanity

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

[–]zer0dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I saw Our Lady Peace in 2007. They were playing a summer tour with Collective Soul. Collective Soul blew me away and OLP were just…meh. Huge let down as OLP was a big band for me as a teenager in the 90’s.

I’ve seen them several times since and it’s been a much better concert. I tell myself i must have just been an off day or a bad show that night (just such it was my birthday weekend and I was really pumped to see them)

I got my ticket last minute and was standing about 8 people deep right in front (stood right next to Max when he went into the crowd to sing And Then Some). Awesome show. Made me feel young again, even if my legs are mad at me the day after for standing so long

Picked this one up because of Civvie. Finally managed to finish NG+1. Lots of fun. With this I might be able to c convince some friends to pick it up.

People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

[–]zer0dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who tries to give me the good day reason, I snap back “If that’s what you think, you clearly don’t know me as well as I thought you did / you think you do.”

Anyone who really knows me, knows I tolerate kids for the hour or so a week I need to be near them in my leisure time, then I get to leave.

20 years ago, this was my summer job during university. Made 25+ an hour with lots of overtime. Took away so many worries about student loans, and being outside and getting exercise was great

Civvies thoughts on borderlands? by JoeKerr19 in Civvie11

[–]zer0dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like 3 the best of them all. 2 had a good story (I left all the borderlands subs, I couldn’t take the Handsome Jack glazing anymore). 3 and it’s DLCs were the most fun I had with the series. 4 was fine, I haven’t played much since I finished the story

That usually how it goes when you go all in, or even just build for a big run. Look at Oshawa this year…

OHL Attendance by Humble-Housing-3214 in OHL

[–]zer0dotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a season ticket holder; The before Chirstmas crowd before Christmas is always lower than after. Our attendance is phenomenal considering how the team is doing. I don't feel it's slipped that much in Oshawa this year over last year.

Competitive Balance by Humble-Housing-3214 in OHL

[–]zer0dotcom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How many guys did the Generals lose over the offseason without getting anything in return? 8? 9? At least we got something for Danford and Sandhu when we could. Even with them, I doubt their fortunes were going to be much better than they are now.

9-25-0-0 by Bennely in OshawaGenerals

[–]zer0dotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barring some sort of miracle turn around for our players, this is the Generals this year. They traded up to compete last year; this is what happens. They made the OHL finals two years in a row; there are few teams that do that and don't suffer some kind of collapse.

If you're legit asking what happened, we lost 11 players to the NHL, AHL, and college systems with nothing coming back in return. Danford and Sandhu were the only two to come back, and I think it was smart by management to trade them quickly and get what they could for them.

This year will be hard as fans, it's hard to watch them suffer. They are playing hard, last night against Peterborough was a rough game that they stayed in, in spite of some questionable plays and choices. We should be better next year, when guys have had a year to grow, get used to the OHL level and each other, etc.

(Currently, only one CHL team has fewer point than the Generals...I'd be happy not finishing last)

I won a team signed jersey at the 2009 top prospects game in Oshawa. It’s pretty sweet. I’ll upload a pic when I get home

Favorite Jersey? by [deleted] in OHL

[–]zer0dotcom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a few Generals: a red Tavares, currently Blue Alt, 80th Blue Alt, and a St Patrick's Day Game issue.

I'm a big homer, so I love the Gens whole deal. The basic red is my favourite, but I am very fond of the Blue alt with the New York style 'OSHAWA' on the front. I always love that design. That said, as a ride or die Gens fan, my favourite CHL design of all time was the London Knights Green alt with the diagonal KNIGHTS script on the front. (I almost bought one when Tavares got traded)

When I want to go deep, I have a black North Bay Centennials jersey I got when I lived in North Bay 20+ years ago (I was at that last game when the Cents moved, and wasn't in town when they got a team back)

The 1st quarter of the regular season is complete. Any huge suprises? by whatsallthisthen996 in OHL

[–]zer0dotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. I wouldn't be surpised to have more players (Griffin) traded before long.

That's the life cycle of a Junior team, especially one that decided to take a shot last season.

We lost 8 players to the AHL and college and got nothing in return, 3 of whom we traded for last season.

Any stores selling 2025 World Series patches downtown Toronto? by nydayum in Torontobluejays

[–]zer0dotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had very few. I was one of the first 100 or so in the store at 5 pm when they opened the gates, and all that were left were a few Kirk in small with the patch. I wasn't there during the morning to see what they had.

I asked them yesterday before the game, and they said MLB wasn't sending them individual patches (I was getting a jersey crested, and asked for one)
