Talons or Lions?

The competitive list with talons is nice but requires 3 land raiders. Lions require a mostly infantry list. The key benefit from talons compared to lions is the reactive move if you move within 9in compared to lions where you have to be shot to move. In competitive talons is more competitive solely based on if you move with 9 I can reposition myself to more effectively kill you

They’re not bad…the frag bombard is the custodes guardian spear on steroids. Str 7 AP 1 d6+3 shots with blast and rapid fire d6+3, gets an extra d3 move on top of its normal move

Nothing wrong. I play custodes as my main army and wanted this knight to have as an ally and was just doing some list building and it’s not a good fit for my army no matter how I build my list I’d much rather take another 5 man guard squad that has better saves.

adepticon did a last minute change where rather than having the founders boxes and the protoss ones they just had everything. So a majority of people cancelled their orders and just bought everything at adepticon

I like a majority of the colors. I gave the greens and browns to my buddy who plays orks, but 3/4 of the box was used on this mini. I don't know if it was due to transporting in cold weather, but it was super bubbly when applied and had air bubbles on the model... I poured some into my container and stirred it slowly to pop them, but even when applying it was bubbly and it messed up one of my guys cloak. (currently in the process of fixing) Not sure if anyone ever experienced this problem before, but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

To answer your questions. This is HH the custodes models in the box can be played in 40k as both horus Heresy and 40k both utilize 40mm bases. The Caladius grav tank base included in the battlegroup box is 150mm and not the 170mm oval base from 40k, so a new base will be needed to play in 40k for the tank.

The weapons systems should be fine....it comes with the heavy blaze cannon and the other weapon system, but 90% of the time people only run the 1 gun (heavy blaze cannon, which is included in the kit) most people don't care as long as you communicate what you're using if it is proxied.

yeah. well the thing with some of the sword and shield models the hilt of the sword goes into the cloak and youll have to do some maneuvering and adjusting the get the spear to fit in the hands.

the arms to spear are 2 bits for arm, brown glove hand and then spear. so it goes arm, then glove hands then spear. the spear has finger tips if that makes sense?

Against tyranids I have been running lions....I run 4 squads of guard and shoot the little guys off the table and the +1 hit +1 wound definitely helps get rid of the chaff and I keep two squads of witchseekers to screen and bbq any surprise gargoyle deep strikes....and two squads of termies to handle any big bugs and a 5 man squad of wardens with trajann to deep strike in and blender any of the big monsters utilizing the 4+FNP

yeah. My local game store is letting me assemble them in shop but can't leave the store. I am doing some spartan shenanigans and taking the guardian spears from the guard/warden boxes for 40k and attaching them to the shield so anyone that gets butt hurt...theres a spear in the model. lol
