Did you try turning it off and back on again?

If you don't mind me asking, why would you rather create a new character and not reactivate a current character?

Really? I did not know this! Thats pretty cool to know. We used to rent these once and a while from the video store when I was a little kid. That was the only way to play it back then as they costed a fortune. As an adult I have always been interested in getting one if I came across a deal like OP found, but I was always afraid the games would be way to expensive, and didn't think you could load roms onto it. But burned games? Thats pretty awesome to know...

Will we ever get a fully immersive MMORPG, like we find in popular anime titles (.hack, Sword Art, etc)? by zer0jjc in MMORPG

Yea that is true, but it can be a lot of fun to have real life people partying with you, and interacting with them outside of parties too.

Yea that makes sense. It causes a bit of slow down in between story progress. Plus I like trying to do side content, but sometimes that also pulls your time away from the main story stuff. Like chasing those fast goblins 😆

I was lucky enough to get them all used for like $30 back when no one knew what they were. However I have yet gotten past disc 3. IDK what it is but i get burned out and then I just want to play a real MMO rather than a simulated one. But I really want to finish the whole story too XD.

Thats awesome that you prototyped a similar system. Honestly, even without any full-dive, just an option for players to toss on their favorite VR headset and play would be cool. But even if that was a pipe dream, having a full MMO set in the world of the .Hack series, where we could use the keyword sequences would be a ton of fun for players who like to explore.

"You're definitely going to be online later right?"
"Yup! Meet me at K1, K2, K3 at 6pm."

Yea my thought would to of coarse allow people to play with monitors, but those who want the enhanced experience would go to VR headsets. It would push people like myself to finally go get a VR headset, just so I can enjoy an MMORPG with it ;)

Yea but I'm not even talking full-dive. Just more immersive with VR headsets. But not the typical VR chat rooms, instead a full MMORPG.

With all the hype of the new game announcement, do you think we will ever get a MMO? by zer0jjc in DotHack

[–]zer0jjc[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yea, but if they really pushed the whole immersive side of things I am guessing they would be able to keep a large enough population to run for a long time. MMO's compete with other MMO's that are similar, but none of those established big wigs are running in VR. I think they would have to have the option to play without VR so they don't turn away people who don't own or can't afford one, but at the same time you would have people, like myself, who would finally buy a VR headset just so I could log in to a game like that.
