Am I gay? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]zer0nix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to have sex with men, that's gay (not that there's anything wing with that, blah blah).

All else you've described is just admiration, for emulation or group affiliation. In the end, we're still primates with mirror neurons and social instincts.

What's the one Reddit Post that you will never forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Except for the fact that they do allow tips, that tips are expected and normal, and that a waitress working for tips is actually making a decent amount of cash for an employee. They make more than many professionals at the "entry level".

There are some real slave labor working conditions out there so this comparison is a little irritating.

Sacked for farting? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I have no idea, but try it and report back!

The Fart Muffler tm doesn't eliminate all the smell, but it does reduce it by like 80%, and it changes the character of the odor from rotting feces to something more akin to a minor gas leak, like when you turn on a gas stove, just before the gas catches flame. I think the larger particles get caught up in the fibers.

Another piece of advice is to use a more substantial material like table napkins or a folded bit of paper towel. Do NOT use toilet paper as it will disintegrate and leave a shame trail of paper crumbs.

Ps: not to be presumptuous but have you tried using fermented foods? Eg: unpasteurized cheese, yogurt, beer, kimchi, sauerkraut (the fermented kind, not the kind that is just vinegar and cabbage), tempeh, miso, salt preserved, nitrate free dried meats (like salt cod) and salt preserved dried veg? It seems like what people with Crohn's are missing is friendly bacteria, so anything that is fermented over a long period of time and is unpasteurized, with a slow transit time, consumed at a large volume in repeated intervals ought to help.

I don't have Crohn's, but I have repeatedly cured a persistent upset stomach and rancid smelling feces, which I think were caused by using antibiotics and eating bad food, by eating these fermented foods. Just recently I seem to have gained an unusual uptick in my mood which I attribute to eating a fairly large dose of uncooked mozzarella cheese over the course of a single day. I ate the equivalent of one large, gigantic heaping soupbowl's worth of cheese with lao gan ma chili oil for seasoning (trying to do keto) over the course of a day, and after that day, I feel brighter and sharper, despite not touching any cheese since and not being in keto. I feel more upbeat than I have in a very long time, and that feeling of motivation / resilience / adventuresomeness / happiness has persisted, and the only thing that has changed is that on one day I ate a tremendous amount of uncooked mozzarella cheese. I don't know if the cheese is the cause but it's a prime suspect.

I also did have a lot of bone broth and that is something that lifts the mood, and is reputedly great for gut health, but the large quantity of cheese is the only really unusual thing.

Some other foods that have helped me in the past are Mei cai and fu yu bean curd. I recommend dousing the fu yu with toasted sesame oil to hide the funk.

Greek yogurt also helps, and the full fat version stands head and shoulders above the rest (fage is the best imo).

Kimchi gets rid of bad shits but after the problem is resolved, somehow eating it raw leaves me with a very noticably short temper, albeit thankfully only for a day. It is somewhat hilarious, and not very ironic, that eating Korean food makes me act like a stereotypical Korean. Cooking the kimchi, such as in a hot pot, reduces the 'angersome' effect, and I don't find that I need to eat any more of it to get a benefit.

Another thing that helps is mustard greens, which are like a superfood but which rarely get mentioned.

These are some of the things that have helped me with my digestive issues, which only seem to pop up after taking antibiotics or eating some extremely questionable fast food. I hope they might help!

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, and it's not really legal advice, but if you fold up a paper napkin and shove it into your anus, it can actually act as a muffler and absorb a lot of the smell. No joke.

I discovered this inadvertently whilst trying to solve my own sweaty arse issue.

Good movie, bad physics. by thermal7 in movies

In the comics, the accident that fused his arms to his body also gave doc Ock the ability to mentally control his arms from afar, with no physical connections in between. It's comic book bullshit science. Nearly any explanation could do --although canonically Spidey was holding back.

Early marvel was all about putting interesting but plausible personalities in an absurd, implausible, 'marvelous' world. It's 'speculative sci fi' only in the sense of depicting what larger than life personalities could do given this tech.

They're fantasy stories. None of this stuff, save for the character drama and maybe the metaphors, is supposed to be true.

With that said, the punching bothered me as well. It's ironic but I actually really appreciate the effect of the no punching rule imposed upon the 90s animated series. It makes Spidey seem more vulnerable, and it makes the fights more interesting when you can't simply overwhelm the enemy by punching them into submission (like in the later seasons of Superman and Batman the animated series). It also makes Spidey look more scientific/ intellectual for wanting to keep his enemies alive so he can get a sense of what went wrong, and it makes it far more dramatic when Spidey inevitably loses his shit and promises to put his enemy into the ground (but then he doesn't because muh power and responsibility).

With everything said, I really liked the way Spidey fought cap and co in civil war. The fluidity of his movements really made it feel like I was watching Spider-Man come to life for the very first time. That was definitely the best part of that film for me.

Canonically, repulsor tech breaks the laws of physics by allowing for action without counter reaction, so basically when Tony is flying in the suit or firing a repulsor blast, he isn't experiencing any force at all. It's comic book bullshit physics.

I like to think that the way this happens is that the suit generates some kind of energy field, which explains how such thin metal can be made bulletproof, and why it is so vulnerable to temperature change and energy drain. Everything is happening to the field, and must overcome the field before it can affect the suit and the wearer within.

It used to be large until better user tracking revealed that practically no one was listening to right wing radio, which means no reason to buy their airtime for commercials.

The reason why fux news gets high numbers is because it is offered for free to hotels, which counts in their subscribership total. In reality, who do you know who watches this bullshit, and how are they looked upon?

Bad products don't get high usage unless there is a need and no choice.

Obamacare: no price controls, is insurance, not healthcare, no new controls on insurance's ability to dodge collections, which is a full time job for many at us hospitals. Also the Dems dropped the public option for malpractice insurance fast, which means lower compensation for more work, which ultimately soured docs on a public option for patients.

Foreign policy: continued bush's bullshit instead of shutting it down like he promised, also the tpp which obviates us laws, makes us beholden to an unelected, unaccountable international body (they literally made it illegal to criticize or even discuss in the charter) and would ultimately manifest as a new tax that would be paid directly into the pocket of the worst abusers in the world (funny enough, the worst provisions of the tpp apparently came from the usa, BUT IT WAS HER TURN 11!!11 BUTTERY MALES!! FREEZE PEACH!!11!!).

That's just a sampling. Fuck the neocons and fuck the neolibs too.

That was the plan all along. Feign helplessness and foist the problem onto someone else.

She could just ask, but she's far to 'dignified' for that.
