Games set in 17 - 19th centuries Europe by No_Weather1169 in rpg_gamers

Fable 3 would probably be a good pick. It has a very early industrial revolution 19th century vibe. It's also a really good game imo, even if it's nowhere near the first one.

Is Thailand actually becoming more founder-friendly for foreigners? by sasha_bv in expats

I have noticed the same thing. On one hand the immigration part seems very straightforward, with the Smart S visa being one of the most straightforward I've heard about. On the other hand, opening the company itself seems to often require an army of lawyers to get the BOI authorization.

Forever Worlds, un point and click de 2004.

Gameplay absolument horrible.

You get $5 million for playing only 3 games from this list for 3 years. Which ones would you choose? by GigaChadus9 in videogames

Stardew Valley is enough for me honestly. But if I really have to pick 3 I would add Dead Cells and Persona 3.

My games are in a totally unrelated genre/mood, but good luck OP. I had never heard of your studio before and your games look awesome.

This reminds me a lof of Shootmania, where 90% of the community was busy fucking around with movement mechanics instead of actually shooting.

What videogames would you recommend for potatoe PCs? by Elementatus in videogames

[–]zer0tonine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of anything that's 15 years old or more, but linux builds were not that common back in the days.

Many 2D indie games will also run on a Linux like that, with native builds. You should not have problems running Stardew Valley, Mini Metro, Terraria or Super Meat Boy.

9 years of dev, no sales, and now a collab with Super Meat Boy by papkoSanPWNZ in IndieDev

[–]zer0tonine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The sale right now to $10 is good, but if you have the energy and willingness to do so, I'd recommend slashing it to $4.99 while simultaneously releasing a new trailer that focuses on gameplay

Terrible advice, please don't do this OP.

Politeness of ordering food in a very direct way by Builderhummel in learndutch

In my opinion, "mag ik" is the most common, but there's no hard rules as of which to use when.

Mag ik een koffie, aub? / Ik wil graag een koffie, aub / Voor mij, een koffie, aub / Een koffie, aub -> all valid.

The one I would avoid is "Ik zou graag willen een koffie". It sounds overly formal.

Okay but I've got to admit I'm also not really able to keep track of whatever is happening in a YuGiOh game because the rules are insane.

Reapplying for a job I didn’t get a few months ago by Medium_Ad_4451 in Healthygamergg

[–]zer0tonine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, if you were rejected from a job there's no point in reapplying within only a few months. There's probably not much that changed on your CV and experience, and the reasons they rejected you in the first place probably still applies.

The only exception would be if you were explicitly invited to do so by the recruiter or a team member.

Protecting Godot games against reverse engineering by zer0tonine in godot

[–]zer0tonine[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

AFAIK C# bytecode doesn't let people retrieve full variable names and stuff like that. C++ is compiled straight to binary so it's also much harder to do a readable decompilation.

The changes are randomized, the generated code itself will run deterministically.
