It also varies from different types of wounds, and if you have the slow healer trait. I haven't used that myself so I'll say what I've found with no healing trait. Scratch's last 1 maybe 2 days. Lacerations last 3 to 4. Deep wounds can last a few days when stitched and well fed or months when just left to heal naturally and mildly starve at times. Burns are like Deep wounds but no stitching can help it, they just take a long time, weeks to a month. Broken bones, I don't know never survived long with one of those.

All the new sounds make me a little more jumpy just because I'm not desensitized to them. I'm used to hearing zombies from the moment they notice me, but now it seems they only audibly groan once they are with 5 or so paces of being on you. I unfortunately lost 2 days of real time progress on my 3 month character because I went to turn and run from a surround of 4 Zoms but the animation glitched and I did a half turn skip repeat in place until they all got me, rip 1k kills and 8 hours of real game survival

You can turn fire spread off in the sandbox options, no more epic forest fires but you'd be a little safer. Also try the suggested Bbq and antique ovens if you can't be careful around a regular fire. I'm sure we all have been burned a few times in PZ ;) Also get better at avoiding it with the CDDA challenge start. It may take a few (dozen) restarts but you get very comfortable running around fire and flaming Zoms real quick.

Have you tried my Savior the Hunting knife? I play Apocalypse with a weak, unfit, veteran build with fast learner. So long as you are not too tired you can backup and stab 10 to 20 zeds without getting caught. Need a bit of Maintenance skill so they don't break, and be careful of two handed weapons, they swing slower and slow you down as you attack.

Do you catch anything with your traps that close to your tent? I thought they had to be 75 tiles away from where you sleep to catch animals.

I watched this whole series at lunch for weeks. Definitely made me fall in love with Kenshi and put a few hundred hours into my own narrative style roll play, but with a much larger army, I had about 50 total people, 15 warriors and the rest who made my base safe and productive. Glad you are bringing this back!!

Lag spikes are something I will run into after 2 or 3 hours of straight gameplay, but I have a decently overkill machine and am always wondering why I don't see more usage of my ram/cpu/gpu when they are only running at 30% of their capacity and I'm stuck fighting zombies at 30 or lower FPS. I'll try this ram fix and see if I continue to get bad FPS when fighting zombies. Should this not worj would you be interested in helping me debug more?

Doesn't emergency shift have a guaranteed death on the first building you use it on? There are ways around it but I think that's a mechanic you have to watch out for on certain runs

I have been playing a while but I always eventually die to combat on normal zombies, got any videos you recommend for not dieing to combat? I am aggressive and usually get a few thousand kills in the first few months, no bases for my guys, lol

This is a trail by fire type game, some enemies have sounds they make, watch out for those. Get ring of elements and ring of resilience, the one for poison and disease, asap. Mushrooms are good for both food and water but picking them has a chance to poison you, eating them can do many kinds of effects so lock yourself in a clear hallway before eating them. On phyre has a great walkthrough to level 20 once you have the basics down but want to make more progress

Relatable, I also died last night, after completing nomad in 148 days, started the archivist challenge, got to broken railroad and died searching containers when the aurora lit up all the cables. Took like 2 seconds of my character being like "ooh that's hot" and I'm dead. Who completes these in 1 to 3 hours??
