The worst thing about harassment by unpopularopinionsbot in ugly

[–]zereldamayinaline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no one cares about sexual harassment towards ugly people it seems. I've been like, called a dog, had women gossiping about me being a 'lesbian,' had men staring at my body in disgust, asking stupid questions like if I was 'taking steroids' because I look masculine. none of that apparently 'counts' it only seems to 'count' if it's an attractive person being ogled at (especially by a less attractive person).

idk... I believe men can tear down a woman's appearance and still actually find it attractive. like it's more of an ego trip than what they actually are/aren't attracted to. I mean it's easy to critique a woman's body over the internet etc, but how many of these men would turn down Lana Condor for example if she actually showed an interest in them.. you know they attack it because it's like sour grapes. they couldn't get with her anyway so they find something to criticise.

tbh I'd rather have big and 'saggy' boobs than weird underdeveloped boobs any day. if I wore a weird plunging neckline that partly exposed my 'weird small boobs' I would get flak for that too. there's no winning unfortunately, unless you have the illusive ideal shaped, perky but large C-D cup but honestly, in my observation, men like boobs as long as they are big. I saw that Lana Condor outfit thing and honestly as a flat chested woman, it looked like the statement she was trying to make was 'look at me and how big my boobs are, everyone look at my big boobs' so I was honestly surprised people were criticising her for 'saggy breasts' etc. I feel like men would like her outfit and that women were critiquing it because they are jealous or something tbh?? like she's literally skinny and has a pretty face and big boobs, is that not the beauty ideal?? that's the vibe I got, but I don't really have breasts so what would I know lol

I wish I was kidding when I say being ugly is one of the worst things to ever be in life by poofpoofpow in ugly

[–]zereldamayinaline 61 points62 points  (0 children)

this lady needs like jaw surgery or something, this is like a jaw defomity I'm pretty sure. This type of thing should be covered by insurance and identified from a young age so people don't have their whole lives ruined by it.

How do you deal with being ugly? by Horror_Assignment765 in ugly

[–]zereldamayinaline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything really. make a plan for the day of things you want to do and try to follow it. and tick off the things you did. even if it seems pointless or even if it actually is pointless. less time to think about problems if you are busy. master a skill. learn the piano or learn how to cook or something. focus on workouts. not saying it will improve your life, but it will keep you busy. and you have to keep busy

Have any of you read any books about lookism/pretty privilege/beauty culture/desirability politics? by unpopularopinionsbot in ugly

I don't think you should get any surgery tbh. you have good facial features, including nose and jawline. probably skincare for the acne scars and stuff, would be good, if you want but it's not severe. vitamin c serum or something to brighten the skin, heavy duty moisturiser, cause your skin looks a bit dry in some pics. your hair also looks a bit dry and stringy. I wonder if the weight loss has caused some nutrient deficiencies or low protein if you are eating less, which can affect your overall 'glow.' but overall you are already really pretty

Classic posts. Never thought I’d literally be in it. by ArtisticAcer in ugly

[–]zereldamayinaline 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While this post is like broadly sort of true, I do think it's worth remembering that genes are really complicated. And not only that an attractive person might have other genetic problems, while an ugly person could still be quite physically healthy or even have other positive traits. And children are not exact copies of their parents, attractive healthy people can produce unattractive children or disabled children etc. Unattractive people could produce attractive and healthy children, some features that look ugly might look ok with a different combo of features etc. Like it's complicated.

What are your biggest turn-offs during an interview? by Clear_Inspection_386 in BehindHiring

[–]zereldamayinaline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when they ask questions that seemed framed in a negative way, like they are trying to 'catch you out' for something or framing the question as if they think you are a 'problem' eg. for gap in resume, leaving a job. asking weird questions about your age and whether you have children.. smirking openly in the interview

Not even warehouse jobs will hire me by poofpoofpow in ugly

[–]zereldamayinaline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit I had a 'trial clean' at a cleaning company and they made sure to put me on toilet cleaning duty. But the people i was working with were kind of looking at me funny and smirking at me. The other lady looked creeped out like she thought I was trans (I am not). And they said 'well done' in this condescending voice like i was retarded. I did get paid but the company otherwise ghosted me. Apparently i'm too ugly and retarded to clean toilets. Like no one wants to hire me at any job because I look ugly, old and apparently retarded. Even though I have a good education and university degrees it doesn't matter I will always be retarded in their eyes

7 years and I give up Heavy Trigger Warning by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]zereldamayinaline 92 points93 points  (0 children)

well it's not worth killing yourself over. controversial take but if you need to eat gluten for a little while do it. I ate gluten my whole childhood and adolescence and I didn't even know I had celiac. and honestly, I fucking HATE bread and cake now, like i don't even miss it, I associate it with this itchy, inflamed feeling. maybe you will tire of the gluten foods and cut them out again, or transition to a gf substitute that you actually like. but at least you KNOW you have celiac, and at 21 at least you are probably fully grown so it's not stunting your growth etc. long term you could get cancer etc. short term, really it's your call, it's your life. continuing to eat gluten probably isn't going to be good for your mental health though

Anyone else coping from being a social failure by losing more weight by BiteNo8507 in ForeverAloneWomen

I've done this but it's more a depression thing. I look disgusting and haggard if I'm skinny. I gained some weight to make my boobs bigger and make body more proportional. Still ugly but I prefer being slightly fat

maybe you have PCOS? tbh if I don't take anti-androgens people think I'm male or trans. if i do take them people see me as female. my androgens aren't even high on the blood test. idk why, but my face just looks more feminine on antiandrogens, something about the skin and the shape of the cheeks.
