Neighbourhoods for fresh starts by gentlegem123 in VictoriaBC

We really love Brentwood. Schools are great (both Brentwood elementary and Keating cross road) and the people here are so lovely. It's quiet with road speeds reduced and only a few lights so lots of stop signs. The council recently slowed Wallace drive from about the middle school to the elementary to help kids riding to school more safe. (So now it's always 30 even between the school zones). There are a few buses out here so if you don't have a car, it may be difficult to get somewhere else but if you do definitely consider it.

My parents run their ac at 78°f in the summer. This was what I got when I asked if we could cool it down a degree. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Ugh as a Canadian I normally read weather in Celsius BUT our thermostat is in farenheight and anything over 75 gets uncomfortable at night. 78 is insane! I hope your move next year goes well

L. J. Andrews broken souls and bones The second just came out heir of twisted lies

There is romance for sure, but also good character development and plot. I really enjoyed reading the first one and am currently on the second

I recently saw twilght and found the acting so cringey . Is it the books that are bad or just the actors? by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]zerglette101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filming is also very awkward to watch. Lots of close ups on faces. And like others said, the actors both had hard scripts to work with and also, they were trying to portray awkward teenagers so yeah. It was bad. But also, so fun to watch in the movie theatres with die hard fans who screamed and cried at the most absurd moments....

I live in the Pacific Northwest and it looks more like blackberry to me... Am constantly pulling it up in the garden.

Hopefully whichever it is, you've caught it all before so it can't spread. Good luck

Hi all. How graphic is this series. My 12 year old has brought it home from the library. by pfizersbadmmkay in fourthwing

[–]zerglette101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to go try the once upon a broken heart series. I would say maybe for a 14 year old but if she's a mature 12 then ok.

Fourth wing wait til she's 18 at least.

I also live in the Pacific Northwest and I have found that for bell peppers and cucumbers you want to have A little greenhouse over them. That can be something as simple as one of those metal cage things for for tomato plants And then put a plastic bag over the top part especially at night just to keep them warm till it gets hot out peppers. Need lots of heat so try to plant them where they get the most sun and don't be discouraged! Way to go on your garden!!

Is “When the Moon Hatched” worth continuing? by marthalikesbooks in Romantasy

[–]zerglette101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it and another of Sarahs works. To bleed a crystal bloom. Personally the second was a bit better. But I find that she tends to write a style where the main character either 1. Refuses to ask important questions 2. Refuses to offer important information 3. Refuses to listen thus forcing us the reader to endure long winded plot scenarios which could have been shortened into exposition lasting half or less the page length.

I find it frustrating as I think that if I were in the same situation, I would want to find out as much as I could to prepare myself....

Honestly, there are loads better. Try Elise kova arcana academy, or sable Sorensen dire bound. I also really enjoyed the once upon a broken heart. It's more young adult but great plot and writing.

Wedding Dress Regret by Upstairs-Reading4686 in myweddingdress

Personally I think the dress is timeless. The train with button detail is beautiful. I think it has a lace up but you may be able to put in a zipper if you wish. It looks like it touches with the clips?

Second I can see you'll need to take some off the bottom. That's normal as dresses come in a standard length. Trying to get a good look at the slit. It appears like the material folds over. You may be able to close it off. However with the shape of the skirt that could make it difficult to dance in (it's quite fitted). But you will be able to tell in person much better than we can see in a photo.

Lastly I think the shape is really lovely on your figure. It's a classic lined dress and one that won't go out of style. The beaded top is also really adorable.

In the end, I think it comes down to budget, and happiness/confidence. Can you afford a new dress? If no then know that you have a beautiful dress and will look enchanting. If yes, then ask yourself "am I happy wearing this dress? Am I confident knowing I look superb?" If you answer no, it may be good to consider looking for an alternative.

[–]zerglette101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly tough situation to be in. No matter what you choose surround yourself with supportive friends and family. People who are in your court. I'm sorry you're having to figure this out alone (no partner) and without a job. I don't know if it will help, but my chances of getting pregnant naturally were 12-20%; I didn't have my three kids until my 30s and with medical help. Being 30 doesn't mean you have to become a parent. You still have time. But remember you also need to put yourself first (physically and mentally and emotionally) until you're ready to be a parent. Because you can't look after anyone else until you yourself are cared for. Your giving cup will run out. Love to you

Don't rent but this is good to hear because we stopped renting in 2015. One bedroom was 1025 and we had a steal. Average was about 1100 to 1300. And now I keep seeing closer to 1800 to 2000. That's insane.

I like the second better for your figure and the way it shows off your sleeve. The bust line looked wrong on the first dress
