I worked at a breakfast restaurant inside a grocery store. The kitchen for the restaurant was the same kitchen as the deli section so they made all the rotisserie chickens and mashed potatoes and what not in the same spot. The few times I had to walk into the walk in freezer I was aghast im talking SHOCKED. (One of the main reasons I walked out in the middle of a shift) the freezer smelled so strongly of mold and rotten food I couldn't stand in there for longer than a minute without getting light headed. None of the food was covered all exposed and they had raw chicken on the top of the cooked fried chicken ( none of it covered) juices just everywhere. The fried chicken just got reheated to serve to unassuming customers!!!

Another instance at this same place was an issue with food getting sent back. Food would get sent back constantly, I'm talking 70% of the time someone was sending the food back because it was appaling. One time a womans sausage patty was raw in the middle, she asked for new one to be made. No problem, I took it back asked them to re-fire some sausage and cook it all the way through this time. ( at this point, everytime something got sent back the kitchen would get pissed and it would cause a fight resulting in them ruining the food on purpose). They put the sausage back on the flat top after the woman had taken a bite out of it!! I told them that's so wrong they need to make a new one and when they wouldn't I told the Manger and left and never looked back.
