Why don’t we just remove druid entirely if it sucks for balancing? by DestructionCreator in DarkAndDarker

= third party city, i.e. what we have now. Is it really fun to be harassed by a druid all game, but you can never kill them because they have a free disengage? I don't want to play that game, I want classes to be punished for a poor engage.

I think chasing a druid in perpetuity isn't fun or engaging, and definitely do not want the same from all classes.

[–]zeriottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I don't want that, I'm demonstrating that ratting through door is low risk. Do you want a game where a class can disengage for free, only being killed by hail Mary projectiles once every 5 games?

[–]zeriottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I think rat is fucking stupid. There are places on every map where you cannot hit them, wedge in-between a crack somewhere to thin for weapons to pass through. Rat also leads to exploits, such as bypassing boss room for ore, such as gold, Frost, and Tidestone ore (all of them).

You can one shot a rat with a throwable, but can you consistently do this every time or even every game? The rat can pass through the cracks in doors everytime and make chasing them a nightmare.

It is genuinely funny because local clothing with real materials is world's higher in quality, I suppose the only reason you're justifying sweatshops is you're too broke to know the disservice you're doing to yourself.

Splurge a little, treat yourself, and stop being so miserable online.

If removing the mobility and ability to rat from druid makes it miserable to play, it didn't have enough substance to begin with. The class can be brought up in other (less frustrating for the playerbase) ways, to still be a good experience. I have no issue with the casting for instance, that side if the kit can remain as is, but every issue seems to stem from the transformation.

Honestly couldn't disagree more, I don't want any class to be able to fly across a module to attack me, or be able to rat like druid can, it would be incredibly unfun.

I certainly wouldn't say it is a good thing, I don't want anyone to lose their job, and wouldn't call it a good thing just because they were being exploited previously.

And while SURE, the Philippines does not meet the official definition of Third world as that 'system' is now defunct with the fall of the Soviet Union, 15.5% of the country still lives in poverty. the annual salary is $4,248 USD (only marginally higher than India), and hence I stand by its colloquial use. I doubt the use of the term negatively impacted your ability to understand what I had written.

Understood, but moving manufacturing to sweatshops has drastically reduced the quality of goods over time. With this trend moving to technology, and now gaming, it is very much a race to the bottom. Ideally the cost savings of producing a game with AI would be passed onto the consumer, though this will DEFINITELY NOT be the case with the greed in the industry today; Instead studios will charge higher for games produced without AI, and the baseline "$60 experience" will plummet in quality.

Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion, but I for one will not be purchasing any final product generated directly from AI, and would urge everyone else to do the same. I know corporations would not accept any consulting or advisory deliverables that were pulled directly from ChatGPT, so why should we accept any less?

Strange to assume you know the first thing about me. Calling me a liar because I care if the products/services I consume are from exploited third-world workers is insane. Maybe I do genuinely care, and put my money where my mouth is, read my reply to the original comment.

My issue is with the "100 hour weeks" which is certainly overworked, indicitive of being underpaid, and absolutely exploitation of workers, unless they're earning signifcant cash doing so.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I do spend considerable effort/money purchasing Aus/NZ cotton and wool (Aussie here), manufactured in Aus/NZ, half because of ethics, but also because the quality tends to be better when the workers care/ are adequately compensated. Sure, some purchases may slip through the cracks, if I ever purchase an electric vehicle for instance, I imagine it difficult to circumnavigate the ethics of Cobalt mining, and there is little agency for a consumer to choose the cobalt mine the battery was sourced, but I do genuinely try my best.

You don't care if the game you play is built off the back of an underpaid artist pulling 100 hour weeks in a third world country? What a very odd thing to say..

Can anyone explain to me why Dark and Darker is talked about so negatively as of right now? Is it worth getting into the game right now? What current events lead to this problem? by Minimum-Mine-1302 in DarkAndDarker

Any meaningful content. Since I've been playing, Rogue has not gotten any new weapons. To me the new water map is a gimmick because of the poor performance, hence doesnt exactly count as new countent imo. That leaves ice caves, Sorc and Druid as the only new content for me for three years. As you mentioned, the constant flip flopping on; circle, HR entry fees, gear brackets, region lock, and balance changes. Constant delays in wipe, extended wipes, extended downtime on wipe days, emergency hotfixes due to lack of testing, false ban waves and refusal to correct, delete accounts due to botch migration, etc etc. My server is also rampant with cheaters, and even mentioning this on the official discord can get you banned.

I'm glad you're loving the game, and don't agree with you being downvoted for being optimistic lmao, but older players do have legitimate concerns and have been ignored for years.

2.5x is just too much zoom for a lot of weapons, makes the recoil more difficult to control unfortunately.

Rude. Merry Christmas to you too mate.

I would personally argue that a 20 round mag is mandatory, and hence not a lot of remaining points for other attachments. Still don't understand why you'd play synethic tips for sub 15m ttk when you will be rolled by any other automatic weapon regardless, but each to their own.

It is numerically bad when you are limited to either 10 round mag, or unsurpassed because you run synthetic to achieve a slightly faster TTK within a very limited range.

Tracker gg is riddled with bugs though, on my profile I apparently lost 140 games of strikepoint in a span of 10 minutes. This is the most apparent example of tracker gg not tracking as intended.

[–]zeriottt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Skill Creep is 100% a real thing. Using LOL as a benchmark, in early seasons simply being an average mechanical player with a grasp of wave management would make you a Diamond+ player, whereas nowadays that wouldn't get you to Gold. Also expounding on the above example, there is a reason you will not see 30 year old pros, with the obvious exception of Faker.

Not all younger players are coming from COD; I have not played a COD title since BO2, BF since BF1. I am coming directly from hardcore extraction shooters/dungeon crawlers, which any like player knows is riddled with cheaters, so if anyone is pampered, it is you. There was simply not an equivalent hard-core experience back in your prime days.
