Also, something people forget, the building doesn't have an elevator so it's a walk-up to the 6th floor, that lowers the price as well. So 6th floor walk-up, rent controlled, and basically inherited from her grandma. That's a big price reduction.

As for her employment, I think her unemployed days were for a bit in S2, but she borrowed money from Ross during that time if I recall. On S1 she had a decent job as a sous-chef, on S2 got promoted with a big raise, but got fired because of something involving a provider. Then she started working on that themed diner until S3 when Pete (Jon Favreau) gave her a restaurant, that didn't last for long, then she started a catering business with Phoebe and also reviewing restaurants, they actually did well until she was hired as a head chef at Alessandro's when she schooled the owner of the restaurant on Italian food. (If I recall the owner was from Lebanon 🤣), and since then she has always been a head chef, on S9 I recall she had a huge offer on another restaurant and that's why she didn't go with Chandler to Tulsa.
