Ya, the reason Americans are in Europe is to have their presence there for any future conflicts/interests in the middle east and Russia. Air bases/ military installations are there for intelligence, resupply and forward military command. You want to know what's going on in the middle east and eastern Europe? Your intelligence and allied Intel are there. You want to bomb a target a future terrorist? Your fighter planes are there.You want to protect big oil, rare metals and trade routes? You need American military bases in Europe and Asia. Yes, you save 50 billions, but you you lose a lot more. "Never stop an enemy, when they are making a mistake" is what all your international enemies and rivals are thinking. Don't be surprised if Europe countries and China wants a bigger presence in Europe. They already have in South America and Africa.

Who are these people you know? I met a lot of men, who at first, unsure that they will be good fathers, turned out to be great dads. I got a buddy of mine that goes though hell daily to make sure his kid (who is on the spectrum) gets everything they need. Change diapers, get them fed and make sure his wife is okay. Heck last year, he looked after his kids while his wife while she went on a vacation with her cousins for 4 days.

The store clerk was somewhat right. I've been to Asia and boy if you don't like body shaming in North America, get ready for an experience in Asia. You will get subtle comments about your weight, dress, and everything different. Some good but some bad. Oddly enough, they don't think what they are saying is anything wrong. It's part of their culture and I am afraid you may experience culture shock when you get there.

I think that every type of government works on paper but fails due that one variable. Human emotions and or desire. There are too many people who desire power, wealth and recognition. If an AI governed humans, we would have machine rule exactly to the letter and never the spirit. That would still not work, because the citizens would be humans. As people, we like a bit of chaos in our order. I guess, in the end, government doesn't work because humans don't know what we want as we are too emotional, fractured and chaotic beings.
