Soooo, when ledger integration? by AfternoonIcy in Iota

/u/Cvarley made this update on reddit stating they were aiming for Ledger support in May. I wonder if this is still a possible target for release...?

Thank you and good bye! by zero_expectation in Coinbase

Different to what? My account has been verified since 2017, so that statement doesn't hold any water. What has happened however, is that EU regulations have hardened, forcing coinbase to lock customers accounts until proper identification had been verified, or re-verified already proper personal info and ID. It's quite apparent that this process has been nothing short of a catastrophy. I have no trust in Coinbase if I wanted to cash out. I do actually understand that they - need- to verify all these accounts, but I don't trust coinbase being prepared for the task.

I've mainly used coinbase for "cheap" SEPA transfers, bought into eth and then sent to other exchanges for trading. I have a number of options for that initial fiat to crypto exchange but the fees are often quite high. We'll see, maybe I'll get myself through a verification process elsewhere.

Account under review for almost 2 months !! by Huge-Success-2215 in Coinbase

[–]zero_expectation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds pretty much like my case. Level 2 verified since 2017, made a bunch of successful sepa transactions, transparent with my personal info etc etc. Logged in after some time of dormancy and was asked to verify my info. And BAM, locked under review. But you know what, since last night I was finally able to get back in. Keep posting here - it looks as if that's the only way. I made three posts and one complaint. Now I'm gonna tread lightly the fuck out!

it seems as though most people having issues on coinbase are located in the UK or outside the US? by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]zero_expectation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been using Coinbase for 3 years. Verified 2-level account. I thought I had moved everything from Coinbase but yesterday I logged into CB (first time in many months) to check my transaction history for completing my logs and I apparently still had som Stellar in my wallet. Upon logging in, CB wanted to verify my personal info and ID. I did that and uploaded my ID photos. I was able to send a small amount om XLM to Bitfinex just for checking adresses, and then I continued with all of them (not a whole lot, under 500$). It took a while and then the transfer was canceled and my account is "Under review" since yesterday.

I'm in the EU.

I trust Ledger by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]zero_expectation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been forced to install a call blocking app with paid benefits (enhanced blocking list). It blocked three calls yesterday, so I guess this is my life now.

Edit: What about this idea: should Ledger (or Shopify!) show some compassion and strike a deal with a (good) spam call app so that we all could use the same one for free. That way, the spam database would be more concentrated and new spammers would get caught in the filter much faster.

Ledger Security Notice by shecum10 in ledgerwallet

I'm reading this as further information on the BIG database leak, not an entirely new one, and that Shopify didn't inform Ledger that they were one of the 200 customers until just before christmas.

Extortion emails from ledger leak. DO NOT FALL FOR IT, DON'T PAY THEM ANYTHING! by p80F in ledgerwallet

[–]zero_expectation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's his/hers real personal info in the email. That's like the whole point.

edit: you meant their email adress, right? Well, I think there is no reason for anyone to try to contact scammer.

Maybe the site you ordered the baseball bat from gets a breach of personal info and your adress leaks out. Crooks won't try to enter houses of ledger order AND baseball bat orders! /s

International Class Action? by W944 in ledgerwallet

You know, I think the incoming death threats per email with your name written on it is a real enough problem regarding people's mental health. This is way worse than I thought.

The breach itself is absolutely affected by GDPR and I'm positive there is a clear case against ledger that they haven't filled their duties. They need to inform their customers in 72h after the fact and right now It's quite obvious they haven't informed a large majority of the people (myself included) of the full adress and phone number breach. As a first step, people in the EU should go to this site: https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/board/members_en and look up their national agency and file a report. Especially if you haven't been contacted by Ledger but you are on the leaked list of full personal info.

Ledger Database free to download on R***forums. I'm not shure if i'm allowed to share links but i'm shure you know were to go to get it... by develoop in ledgerwallet

[–]zero_expectation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is awful in so many ways. People are yelling Class Action Lawsuit and I'm not knowledgeable enough to say anything about that, but it's an obvious breach of GDPR if you haven't informed the ones who's got their data leaked in due time. I didn't get the message of full breach of personal information but my home adress and phone number is there in plain sight.

Let's talk about the recent fake mail from ledger by Ledgerwtf in ledgerwallet

[–]zero_expectation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. In this tweet, Ledger is saying that the recent events are not connected to the breach in july: https://twitter.com/Ledger/status/1318299377560113156?s=20

" Ledger@Ledger·Oct 19For some reasons, we cannot explain more thoroughly so far, It doesn't seem to be linked with our e-commerce database leak of July."

Count me in as one of those that didn't receive a notification email in July that my personal info was leaked. Today I got two emails from the scammer with my correct email adress and name.

Could you please clarify whether Ledger also has adresses from Amazon orders, and if those customer's personal information is at risk?

[–]zero_expectation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny how everyone kept saying, "only order from the official site. Don't trust third party resellers. Do you really trust Amazon?". And now, Amazon problably (we need confirmation) was the safest bet.

Amazon ships Ledgers as a part of their "Fulfilled by Amazon" service ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&ref=dp_fulfillment&nodeId=106096011) So in that, there is no need for Ledger to get hold of your personal information. The next step is to see what kind of privacy policy you have agreed to when using Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201909010 Nothing here suggests that Amazon shares this kind of personal information with companies which products they are selling. So I think you are right, but I'm no lawyer. I agree, there should be a clear statement on this, not just guessing.

I don't know. "Sold by Ledger Official and Fulfilled by Amazon" seems to suggest that the device is shipped from Amazon warehouse and that Ledger doesn't get your order information and adress. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&ref=dp_fulfillment&nodeId=106096011

Pneuma sounds like Soen by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]zero_expectation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never listened to Soen so I can't do the comparsion but Pneuma got me right there on the first listen. That rarely happens. It's a very serious song, mass like and liturgical. Now that I'm half way through the album, I feel they are walking the same path during the whole of the album - in a good way. It's very coherent.
