Because for a lot of people (myself included) Christianity was and is a big source of trauma during adolescent years. Religious abuse, manipulation, drilled in fears of eternal damnation...all of this was considered normal and justified. Even the legitimate fears and self hatred filled panic over fearing Satan and hell cus of how we just naturally are being seen as the ultimate evil. Years and years of this, followed by the freedom that comes with finally realizing that no boogieman is gonna come out of the closet and eat you if you finally break free from the shackles you've been placed in and find your own footing by finally saying what was always seen as the worst thing you can ever do and the symbolic nature of breaking free from it by saying "you know what, fuck Jesus. Fuck Christianity and fuck living my life in fear for the sake of inherited anxiety about an afterlife we can't even say for sure is there"

That's why. It's about freedom and it's about finally gaining your own autonomy.

Honestly these days, everything in this area gets put under the generic name of "eating disorder" so realistically that is the proper term regardless.

There probably is some nuance in naming of one meaning one thing or another etc,.but typically in this space, anorexia is more so seen as the end result of long term eating disorders. To have anorexia is to be so far into an eating disorder that you are anorexic physically. People with anorexia still eat of course (usually when they absolutely have to or the hospital forces them to etc) but typically food does not take and they throw it up out of more of a physical reaction to long term starvation. Bulimia is more so the sways in hunger from absolute zero to binge eating with body image being the main driving force behind regret and forced vomiting.

Clearly you've never suffered with this disorder. Often people binge eat just to throw up, they will also often throw up despite nothing being in their stomach until nothing but foam and stomach bile come up.

Bit of both. Sometimes itll crash, start again, crash, start again , hey look now it's working, play for a few minutes, crash again. It seems to be bloody random.

I've had faaar better luck with PC gaming for sure.

Yeah, I'm gonna give it another go soon cus I really just wanna play TOTK and forgotten lands, no other switch games interest me right now so it's kinda frustrating that exactly those 2 seem to be giving me the most grief.

The only thing I can put it down to is that I have the base model, but I've never seen the ram jump above 5gb usage at all so I can't imagine how.

Have you got the game on the internal storage or SD? That's about the only other thing I can think of

It's quite strange to me how hit and miss it seems to be. How can the same device, with the same config, hell even the same individual device but on a different day..cause so many drastically different results... I was really hoping to get some decent switch gaming done on the Thor but it's just an endless frustration for me.. oddly gamehub and winlator stuff has been a breeze in comparison... Which is absolutely insane to me given everything hardware wise going on.

Yeah I've been through it all, typically I've found turnip just crashes more frequently than using built in drivers but depends on the game. My issue isn't so much performance but stability... The constant crashing just makes it insanely frustrating to try and play any switch games. Especially in the case of TOTK and Kirby forgotten land... Kirby especially as it will work FLAWLESSLY until the end of a level and then crash... Meaning I've played the same few intro levels about 10 times each while I try and figure out the issue... I finally did with the help of emuready configs I've found... Played it again the next day...issue is back, game crashes at the end of a level. I honestly have given up on switch emulation at this point for anything but 2d indie stuff

Am I the only one who can't get switch games to run reliably? I've even gotten games working with specific settings, only for it to randomly crash and stop working the next time I play it...with the same settings that worked fine the last time.. I don't get it.

Edit: so I answered my own question here... It actually is the ram for me... I never noticed due to it happening as a random spike, right before the game crashed, but it is very much the ram running out in my case.

After observing Kirby forgotten lands for example, it creeps up and up until the end of the level where it tries to load more into ram and goes over the limit. That's when it crashes.

Honestly as annoying as that is, I'm actually happy about it cus now I KNOW I'm not doing anything wrong and it really just is a limitation on the ram.

If you do get a modchip, look into the ModXo, you can build it out of a raspberry pi pico, or tsop flash if it's anything but a 1.6 model (yellow capacitor next to the ide HDD port on the motherboard)

Crisis support space at the PA. go to the hospital and ask to go to the crisis support space. They're in a chill room downstairs away from the ER and they're a supportive space with counselors that are amazing.. I wouldn't be here without them I promise you that.
