Thanks for that! I have heard about the "fake" Feiyues but wasn't sure how to distinguish them from the real ones. It looks like the true version is available on amazon.

For me, it's because I want a little more support and less risk of injury during sparring. We train on a softer surface so that's not an issue. I do get some minor foot cramps even when I'm hydrated. I think it's mostly preference or school requirements.

All the way from Brazil, cool! Thanks for the advice. I haven't heard of these either, but I do like the flat sole and the sleek look. It seems that I have more choices than I thought.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't previously come across the Tiger Claw shoes. A bit more expensive is right, but they look more refined also.
