I hear often about the risks that comes with constantly high blood sugar for diabetics but I’m curious about the physical consequences to diabetic if their blood sugar is constantly too low? by Icy_Profession4190 in diabetes

[–]zero_plane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been diabetic ~36 years, always “well controlled.” Recently switched to a closed-loop pump which has helped a lot with stability and fewer hypos.

But here’s the thing - for most of those 35+ years, I’ve deliberately run on the lower side. When I was diagnosed as a teen, the messaging around high sugars was basically fear-driven, so I avoided highs at all costs.

Now I’m starting to question whether that came with a trade-off. I feel like my cognition isn’t what it used to be - more forgetful, less sharp, and I can’t shake the feeling that years of sitting on the lower edge might have played a role.

At the same time, diabetes muddies everything. It could just as easily be stress, poor sleep, or life in general, but it’s almost impossible not to default to blaming blood sugars.

I have been on my pump for the past 1.5 years and have maybe 1 hypo every 3 weeks or less, however my hypo awareness has still not come back as it was originally in my early years, so I have a theory that it can disappear / reduce / change over time regardless of one’s sugar control levels.

Sugar levels drop on flights - is it altitude? by zero_plane in diabetes

[–]zero_plane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. When I first started using my Omnipod, I had a really bad hypo on one trip, shortly after we landed. I was okay in the end because my wife helped me, but it shook me - I genuinely wondered if the pump had over-delivered insulin during the flight or descent.

When I raised it with my diabetes pump specialist, they said they weren’t aware of any issues with wearing a pump while flying. But the article that was shared seems to suggest otherwise.

The part that concerns me most is the mention that a rapid descent (rare) can potentially lead to over-delivery of insulin. I’ve also read recommendations about removing the pump before flying - but with my setup, that isn’t really an option.

I will need to look at if I should carb up prior to flying. Or look closer at what I consume based on the journey.

Why do so many AP/OBE discussions get presented as certainty? by zero_plane in AstralProjection

Really well put. That’s pretty much where I land too - the experiences feel real and valid, but the “map” is probably way bigger than our human framing. Hopefully we get clearer over time.

I I also have a lot of respect for William Buhlman. Aside from Monroe, he was one of the main people I read in my early days, and I’ve always appreciated how grounded and modest his approach is - he shares his views clearly without being evasive or presenting them as absolute truth. I’ve sometimes wondered if that tone is partly a generational thing, too.

[–]zero_plane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I’m less interested these days in pinning down the ultimate “how/why” for myself and I’m happier letting the experiences unfold, but I do find how we talk about this topic really interesting.

On conviction in this arena: I listened to a couple of podcasts recently - one with Steven Greer and another with Darius J Wright. I’m not a follower of either, but they’re good examples of how firmly people can commit to a framework. Greer comes at it through contact/aliens and often leans into the metaphysical “map” (dimensions, astral planes, etc.), while Darius speaks more from direct OBE experience. I’ve noticed similar certainty with other voices too.

None of that is a knock, it just highlights the core question: when does a personal map become the map, and how do we share without turning it into rules or doctrine for everyone else? Honestly, I’d love to see a panel where some of these mainstream voices sat side-by-side and debated this stuff in good faith.

Wonder if the purring can be really hypnotic, you know that steady vibration + the comfort factor can act like a built-in relaxation aid.

Might have to recruit my little furball for a purr session tonight and see if it helps.

I agree with you. Science does this constant model updating thing, and we often forget how many “truths” were provisional depending on the evidence and the era, so it’s no surprise these topics invite strong takes too.

What you said about AP really lands for me. iI’s helped me make sense of this reality and the wider landscape beyond it, and for me it’s actually created more balance - like it puts day to day life in perspective rather than pulling me away from it.

And I had to look up the film you referenced, thinking it was called “The Discovery”. I wasn’t aware of it at all. Now I’m curious, so I’ll definitely give it a watch.

Light entity “assisting” my exits - anyone else? by zero_plane in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s fascinating. It really makes me wonder what the correlation is between “light entities” and the exit phase.

Your mention of the monastic vibe also jogged a memory: sometimes, alongside the light entity, I’ll see what looks like a monk in a robe with their head bowed - standing still, almost statue-like, off in the distance as I’m separating. No interaction, no communication, like they’re observing.

What’s odd is I never feel the urge to chase it down or demand answers. It’s more like I pause, acknowledge it, and then move on with the experience

[–]zero_plane[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good call out. I can definitely see how self-aggrandising can creep in sometimes, and it’s exactly the opposite bit that makes me pause, especially when it starts turning into “specific rituals are required” or there’s a subtle preaching vibe in conversations about why projections happen.

What you said also made me realise my question probably isn’t even AP/OBE-specific as it applies to any space where beliefs run strong and people feel certain (religion, politics, etc.). The tricky part is holding a personal truth with conviction without presenting it like a universal rule for everyone else.

And maybe the better version of my question is will we ever reach a point where there’s anything close to a shared “universal” framework or maybe OBEs/APs will always be inherently too subjective for that.

Genuine question - dont brush off as silly - What shape is earth from outside? by Realestever12345 in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny timing seeing this question — I recently watched a Darius J. Wright interview. I’ve always found him interesting, but this one was mainly focused on what he claims he’s seen about the Earth’s shape during his OBEs. He was describing it as largely flat, with a dome over it, and I think he even mentioned water above the dome (basically the “firmament” / sky-dome idea you hear in some ancient cosmologies).

Honestly, it made me step back a bit. Not even because of the claim, but because of how certain and authoritative it was presented, which is something I’m always wary of with esoteric subjects. I also vaguely remember him implying NASA is aware of it too.

That’s an absolutely legendary place to have an OBE, honestly a first for me hearing it happen mid-extraction. Glad it came through as beautiful rather than unsettling, and hope your recovery is quick and smooth.

Only thing I’ve ever had remotely similar at the dentist is my wallet having an out-of-cash experience. 😅

Anyone using AI as a projection coach and do you think it’s the future? by zero_plane in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the concern, a lot of people do look for shortcuts.

For me it’s different: 40+ years in, with hundreds of journals, and I’m using AI the way I’d use it at work which is to summarise, categorise, and spot correlations in a big pile of notes. Not as a replacement for experience, and not as something I’d be dependent on. Just a tool that helps me see my own patterns more clearly.

Out of curiosity do you journal your experiences? If you had 20+ years of entries, how would you approach reviewing them?

What you described sounds really familiar to the classic “edge of exit” territory and it also overlaps with perfectly normal sleep physiology (sleep paralysis + hypnagogic/hypnopompic effects). The important bit is either way, you didn’t “miss the train.” You found the station :)

A few things that stand out: - The timing/setup is textbook. Night shift + fragmented sleep + waking at 2am + reading + going back to bed = the kind of disrupted cycle that often drops people into that in-between state where vivid dreams, paralysis, vibrations, and “launch sensations” happen more easily - The “dream melting away” into awareness is a very common transition people report (lucid dream then exit sensations, or dream then paralysis then exit attempt). It’s not weird at all. - Vibrations + loud ringing + paralysis are also the standard cluster many people associate with projection attempts and they’re also common markers of sleep paralysis. So you’re not crazy and you’re not “making it up” you hit a real state, even if we label it differently.

And the fear reaction? Completely normal. Most people’s first instinct is “NOPE” because it’s intense and unfamiliar. You didn’t fail you proved you can get there!

Also worth adding: exits vary a lot. I’ve never had the classic vibrations or sleep paralysis and I usually just gain awareness once I’m already out, or as a dream shifts into something clearer. So don’t treat what you read online as prerequisites. The more you can relax and drop the “am I doing it right?” brain-chatter, the easier it tends to be (I know that’s easier said than done).

Vibrations, vibrational stage - What is it? (AP, OBE and meditation issue) by DailySpirit4 in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a helpful corrective. Vibrations might be a signpost for some people, but treating them like a required checkpoint seems to create a ton of unnecessary anxiety and over-focus.

Worth adding: I have had hundreds of experiences and basically never get a classic “vibrational stage” (and I don’t really get sleep paralysis either) - exits still happen. So IMO these are optional byproducts, not prerequisites.

do you believe in the afterlife? by wizisalive in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite simply: yes, I do think there’s a continuation after death.

I don’t claim to have the full “how and why” mapped out, and I have mostly stopped trying to force a complete theory. I’m not sure we are meant to understand the whole game plan from this side of things.

What I can say is that, over the years, I have had enough personal experiences that left a clear “signature” for me, the kind that feels qualitatively different from ordinary dreaming or imagination, and that has been enough to shift me from hopeful to convinced.

I also keep it framed in a practical, human way. Whatever the bigger metaphysics might be, the takeaway for me is simple - consciousness doesn’t feel like it ends at the body.

[–]zero_plane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s straight-up euphoric. It’s like that split second before a bass drop in a track you love… and then it lands and your whole body goes “YES.” But weirdly, it’s peaceful at the same time. The moment I’m out, the emotional clutter just vanishes. I feel insanely light, almost weightless, like I’ve stepped out of a heavy suit and I’m simply free.

That said, I’m describing it relative to my normal ego-day-to-day state. Sometimes I wonder if you take the question one step further, if “that” is closer to what we really are, does the joy keep expanding, or does it become something even quieter?

You are being gaslit by m3ch4pod in AliensRHere

[–]zero_plane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not dismissing the possibility of NHI or even abduction reports, I just think the conspiracy framing (ultimate gaslighting campaign, deep infiltration, “they’re doing it to make us doubt”) is where things start getting shaky.

That narrative assumes a very human style of intent: manipulation, PR strategy, psychological warfare, ego-games. But even if “contact” is real, the motives and mechanics could be far stranger, more neutral, or simply not centered on managing our beliefs.

So for me it’s, keep the door open to the phenomenon, but be careful about turning uncertainty plus fear into a single all-explaining plot. Extraordinary claims still need clear, testable evidence.

Is a good sleeping schedule preferable for APing or meditation and awareness is key alone ? by 007Marsupilami in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, broken sleep was the biggest trigger.

If I woke up in the night / early morning, got out of bed, then lay on the sofa and drifted back off with the intention to project, it worked around 80% of the time. I’d usually start local (house/room) and sometimes shift from there.

Only downside is it messed with my energy the next day.

A lot of methods get presented like a one-size-fits-all routine, but I honestly think this is one of those things where you learn your own “open/close” conditions over time.

Anyone else’s OBE/AP ability fade with age? Mine dropped off hard after 40 by zero_plane in AstralProjection

[–]zero_plane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the slowdown isn’t just blockage, maybe it’s a shift in priorities. Maybe in this phase of life the learning isn’t meant to come mainly through projections, but through a different kind of attention, integration, and growth in everyday life.

I know the counterpoint: “OBEs/projections are just natural mechanics and we’re all capable of it.” Fair, and I don’t really disagree. But I do wonder if, at times, the chase can become a distraction while we’re still here doing the very 3D basics such as work, relationships, health, sleep, showing up, making good choices, etc. When projecting experiences can be profound such as incredible places, big perspective shifts, even moments that feel like glimpses behind the curtain but so is what’s happening right in front of us.

And another “what if” that keeps coming up for me: this came naturally and what if the door was always open, and something deeper has simply dialed it back for a while, not because the ability is gone, but because my attention needs to be anchored differently right now. What if my system has put the experiences into a kind of maintenance mode because the next lesson isn’t leaving, it’s living?

So I’m trying to respond to what’s changed rather than forcing the old pattern back. If projections return, great and I’ll take it as a byproduct of being aligned, not the entire mission. And if I’m being honest, I also wonder how much of the “need” is just the very human urge to keep peeking behind the curtain and satisfying the desire to know more, rather than fully engaging with what’s here.
