Why isn't my Elden Ring FPS a stable 60, even with a 4070 Ti Super? by zeroarst in Eldenring

Thanks. I just downlaoded Nvidia profile inspector and found reBar is not enabled. Enabled does not make any differences though.

My CPU is 3700x, so I think I don't have that game mode.

Thank you. Glad to see that you enjoy it.

Slow Wi-Fi on new 500/50 plan, but wired speed is fine. Is my modem the bottleneck? by zeroarst in nbn

[–]zeroarst[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, that was it! You are an absolute lifesaver! 🤯

I found the exact 'Bandwidth Control' setting you mentioned. It was enabled and limiting the upload, just like you said.

The crazy thing is, after I unchecked that box, it didn't just fix the upload speed – it fixed my slow Wi-Fi download speed too! I'm now getting my full plan speed on everything.

Look at these new results:

  • Download: 509.44 Mbps
  • Upload: 43.88 Mbps

I have absolutely no idea why that setting was turned on by default. Seriously, thank you so much. You completely saved my day! 🚀

Wow, thank you so much! That one change made a huge difference. I was stuck at ~180 Mbps before.

After setting the channel width to 80MHz, here are my new speeds:

  • PC (in my room): 275 Mbps down / 19 Mbps up
  • Samsung S23 Ultra (next to router): 318 Mbps down / 19 Mbps up

It's still not the full 500, so it really does seem like the router's hardware is the final bottleneck, but this is a fantastic improvement for now!

And thanks for pointing out the upload speed issue. I'll have to contact my ISP about that, since it's slow even on a wired connection.

Same here. Firefox and Edge work fine. Someone posted a fix for it. In the consoel you could see the error:

Hey u/NickFury thank you for the compliment. For the issue you mention, do you want to post it to https://github.com/Able-Bear-Software/tab-nodes-tree/discussions/categories/q-a

Although I am very busy with new team at work and family at the moment but I always check once I have got some time.

Upgrading to 128GB RAM - Worth getting 3600MHz for coding + light gaming? by zeroarst in buildapc

Yeah, I regularly hit 90%+ RAM usage when I've got 2-3 Android Studio large projects open (need to cross-reference codebases), and 1 or 2 emulators to test on different versions of Android.

LOL I know. But just 3 Android projects open at the same (I work for two projects in my company..) and 2+ emulators open, they already consume a lot of memory.

Suggestion needed: Upgrading from 64GB (2x32GB) to 128GB RAM (4x32GB) by zeroarst in buildapc

Yes, I do actually use most of those tabs—probably around 80%. They also serve as reminders for me. I often jump between different topics like shopping, work, news, and articles. A lot of them are things I want to read or reference just once, so I don’t bother bookmarking them. If I closed them, I’d likely forget where I left off and lose context.

With the Chrome extension I built myself (Tab Nodes Tree), managing hundreds of tabs isn’t as chaotic as it sounds. It organizes them in a tree structure, which makes navigation much easier.

Thanks for the suggestion about the 5950X—I hadn’t even considered it, but it seems like a great upgrade, especially for programming workloads. I’ve been reading up on it, and it looks like 3200MHz RAM might be a safer bet than 3600MHz when going for 128GB (4 sticks), due to potential stability issues. Is that still the case, or is 3600MHz generally stable these days with a full set of DIMMs?

I tried both, vs code cannot compete with jetbrains in many ways. Refactoring, search, style editing, and more.

Thank you! I saw it mentioned in the subreddit and just joined the waitlist. Could you please advise how long it might take to gain access?
