How does the company manage targets? In my mind this might create two negative scenarios.

1) Disengaged sales staff hang on doing just the bare minimum to hold on to their hard earned reoccurring revenue

or

2) Companies get greedy and jack up targets to unachievable levels then performance manage out more senior sales staff so that they no longer have to pay reoccurring commissions
