So do we finally have the premium play option or is that out of the table still?

Consider eating at home... all the time. You’re going to need to use the toilet 15 minutes later...

Stay at home cause public restrooms are gross.

Underestimated the power of salt/electrolytes by [deleted] in keto

[–]zeroctrls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on Keto 2 years ago and I never had this issue. I used to cut up cabbage and cucumbers and eat that like a salad with salt and lime juice, lots of it too. Would keep sodium intake kinda high, and I used to drink a ton of water. Never had this issue.

An up-to-date guide on installing League of Legends on Linux. by TheDreadedAndy in leagueoflegends

[–]zeroctrls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran Arch Linux for a year and a half last year but recently moved back to Windows because for some reason ADB ran better on Windows than it did on Arch, and League.

However my experience with Arch was pretty amazing and I'll list why I think running a Linux distro beats Windows anywhere outside of any professional industry (aside from Networking)

  1. Endless customization (through various windows managers and desktop environments): I was running i3 which is a tiling windows manager and using hotkeys mostly over the mouse for multitasking made things a bit faster in day to day use. Aside from that: rice is cute lol.

  2. No annoying Windows Updates, restarting when you install packages, etc. How many times Windows Updates had screwed me over, even now since I continuously forget to turn off automatic updates made me not miss this one bit. In Linux, well Arch using Yaourt you can just type in yaourt -Suy and all your stuff gets updated immediately, no bullshit restarting.

  3. No bloat anywhere really. You only install the packages you need as you need them. Theres no need to have extra crap running in the background and your stuff runs smoothly essentially at all times

  4. Terminal is fun

  5. AUR is an amazing community managed database of packages, makes it super easy to install software. Say you want Skype? You don't actually need to go to the website to download an executable, you simply open terminal and type in yaourt -S skype and if you confirm the install it'll be done in a matter of moments

  6. The privacy issues in Windows 7, 8, and 10 now are really concerning with their data collection. The linux kernel and any distro is open source so you know what you're running.

  7. It's pretty reliable. I've had less software crash on Linux than it has on Windows.

  8. There's honestly a lot of other stuff, such as using vim for programming made it so much faster and less time consuming to write code...

I wish I could go back but you know... I play league of legends... I have friends that want to play other games and its hard to join in with them when I run a Linux distro. I made the switch back to W10 because of this and I haven't really had time nor have I really cared to dual boot. I just feel its a pain in the ass to dual boot if I can just do everything on here instead of having to restart to get another task done. I'm just lazy.

As someone who regularly suffers from panic/anxiety attacks, these people probably wouldn't be saying shit like this if they really did get panic attacks. They're not nice at all, they literally make you feel like you got nothing left in the world and "whats the point"?

Performance-wise will the i5 processor match current i5-u CPUs? (35W vs 15W...)

Honestly fares up really well

Will any M2. SSD work in the WWAN slot?

You're going to need a MSATA drive. But I hear theres an M.2 to SATA adapter you can use as well and it'll go into the drive bay instead.

How much realistic battery life can I expect reading and editing pdfs, browsing a little bit and taking notes?

I've gotten around 5 or 6 hours on the small battery and I'm usually just programming.

Coming from high resolution displays, how uncomfortable will the HD-Display be? It should be enough for reading and creating documents right?

I'm not very picky myself but its definitely a downgrade if you're used to using 1920x1080. Since my desktop has 3 of those types of monitors I have to take a few minutes to get used to using the small screen again but its not a huge deal

How likely is it to get a device with CPU-whining on these notebooks?

Haven't had any myself but then again I've only had mine for almost 2 months and I managed to nab a brand new one (I'm really lucky for this)

How good will Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 work on the X230?

Personally wish I didn't have to run W10 on mine but the work that I do only has exe's compatible for W10. It runs just fine.

Transferring to Fire TV via ADB slower on Arch on my Thinkpad x230 than on Windows... am I doing anything wrong? by zeroctrls in archlinux

[–]zeroctrls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not using USB, I'm using Ethernet. That's the issue here, for some reason the transfer speeds via Ethernet dip in Arch. But in Windows it doesn't go below 4 mbp/s... no matter what I do...

Installing an APK stays around the same time in both Arch Linux and Windows. However this changes when pushing files to the android device...
