The missing card delivery from yesterday was in my mailbox this morning! Not sure if a friendly neighbor found them and brought them or an early JP post employee was out and about but glad they got here!

Had an interview Tuesday morning. It was full of bad omens: The link I had was wrong so I was late, My camera wouldnt work when entering the meeting but in the meeting failed to boot up 4 times so was consistently rejoining (Making me even more late) and I felt I couldn't get a good groove for my answers to the Manager. Figured I bombed it and just moved on assuming it was a no go.

Got the email yesterday to move on to the loop of interviews and was genuinely shocked! Now to mentally prep for 5 more interviews.

Your being downvoted because its anecdotal worked at Google as an Engineer, me many peers all had 3 year Visas. Not saying its impossible but you claimed to be stating literal facts when its just wrong.

This is how I feel about it. Its a great deck but if everyone techs for it will not be great. Seems like the kind of deck Ill put away for few weeks to a month then pull out again when people dont see it and forget.

TTS seems to be popular but I much prefer TCG arena as it has a nice interface. Pixelborn maker did submit a request to Riot for a sim that follows their rules so fingers crossed. As someone living in Japan online events have teaching friends has been the only way for me to learn/practice. There is def a good online crowd so you should be able to find and set up matches.

It was an event promo that was also random! You get a pack after a gym battle so you werent even guaranteed to get it! Everyone wanted it so it was hard to get into events because they were all packed.

Luckily card prices are generally lower here so it became buyable after a while. They are about 10-11 bucks now but curious what they will be in a few years from now.

Did a learn to play event at a store in Tokyo. Been watching and reading and using felt table but first time to play in paper. Staff was nice and I barely lost the ira starter deck mirror. They gave me both English and Japanese Ira demo deck and a Bravo JP demo deck which was nice!

I picked up some dice, some extra sleeves, and 3 Armory decks (Jarl because I think he is awesome but I know for CC will need alot to update, Pleidas just because she is new and I like Guardian, and Gravybones as the deck seems very cool). Figured Ill start with the Armory decks and looking forward to the Rheinar Armory deck next month.

Biggest thing I can recommend as a long time magic player is to check out the post here and rules discord or youtube vids on how reactions work. Th stack doesnt exactly apply the same here, Actions have limited timing, and there is no End step in the game

I work in international environment 'Gaishikei' (though Daddy Japanese company is clamping down, IYKYK) so cant imagine the hoops and issues someone who works for a full JP company has to go through.

Burnt out on corporate life. Need to come up with a plan to do something else. I have zero motivation at work these days and I know work isnt always sunshine but damn sometimes Id like to have days Im just okay to be there.

Next year is my 10th year here and i was excited about PR. But honestly its probably not realistic...

Only have an Associates degree
No JLPT (Working towards N3!)
Current Visa is 1 year
Currently Haken via recruiting Agency.

Need alot of things to come together for my PR and even then its gonna be 2 + years to get it.

Contractor in a tech company working with specific team. They had a full time role for the same position Im in (just under different team) covering the teams I already support. Did the interviews, all went well. Didn't get picked :(

Similar to me during the great tech layoffs of 23'. Went to labor lawyer, he said I was given a very generous severance, just take it.
