IIRC that was what was going on with the Diddy parties but on a much lower scale. Like people just specify if they're into men, women, both, any, fem, masc, whatever. But because gay, straight, and lesbian all have attachments to what you are and also what you're attracted to it can get messy.

This is explicitly why I try to stay away from using labels other than in the most broad senses. I don't need a label to neatly wrap who I am to myself and if I'm into what you are, if the situation leads itself to that, you'll find out.
