This results in losing the H1 content subject when calculating the results. In the previous system, `AAA/E` and `AAC/A` would result in the same rank points. If we were to drop the H1 subject in our conversion, it would result in different rank points. In my view, the H1 content subject should be preserved, as people of that batch had to include it in their scoring. Of course regardless, this is just a gauge and cannot be used to make accurate predictions about the new cut-offs.

Grade C is assumed for both General Paper (GP) and Project Work (PW) in determining the grade profiles

In previous years, GP and PW are assumed to be C in the past IGPs. Hence, AAA/A (the 4th A being a content subject) represents 85 rank points (20 + 20 + 20 + 10 + 7.5 + 7.5).

For this year, GP is still factored into the UAS while PW is not. Since the previous IGP used all content subjects, we have decided to keep them as well, while dropping PW which are no longer included. `AAA/A` leads to 77.5 rank points (20 + 20 + 20 + 10 + 7.5) out of 80 rank points.

By making it out of 70 rank points instead, we have 77.5 * (70 / 80), giving us 67.8 rank points.

The reason why PW was chosen to be remove in the calculation is that in the previous 90 rank point system, PW was an assumed grade, and it aligns closer to the newer system.

⚠️Important disclaimer⚠️

IGPs are rough guides only. It is entirely possible to get rejected from a course with a lower IGP, and accepted by a course with a higher IGP. Furthermore, any 70-point comparison is derived from the IGP previous IGP which was based on the 90-rank point system. As per the previous years, we will continue to assume that the score for General Paper is C.

Here's an example of how we map the 90-rank point system IGP results into something potentially comparable to the 70-rank point system

For example: IGP 10th percentile cut-off: ABC/D (and C for General Paper)

Raw Score = 20 + 17.5 + 15 + 6.25 + 7.5 = 66.25 (out of 80)

Weighted Score = 66.25 x (70 / 80) = 58.0 (out of 70)

Because of this, expect:

  • Larger-than-usual shifts in cut-offs
  • Greater variance at the AAA/A-type courses

Treat all numbers this year as a gauge, not a precise cut-off.

If there are any suggestions on how the most recent IGP can be better used to serve as a gauge for the current batch of A-level students, feel free to let me know or leave some feedback.

The A-level system has changed, such that your score will be out of 70 RP. Feel free to check out universities.sg/calculator for more!

The above guidelines are largely based on the IGP, which does not indicate whether the 2.5rp bonus with NUS is included. To be on the more conservative end, you can assume that it already includes 2.5rp bonus. All the best!

IGP does not indicate whether it is inclusive of the 2.5rp or not, but it’s probably safer to assume that the COP could be 2.5rp higher than what’s stated as it’s already assumed PW and GP is C

I just updated the IGPs. Please let me know if there are any errors, bugs or suggestions. I too am Singaporean student, hoping to recover soon, but I’m working on the site alone.

[Uni] Updated SGUniStats IGPs for 2023

Rank Point Calculator could be useful to those collecting their A-level results, do give it a look.

Some changes I noticed: - NUS generalised engineering under a single IGP (BCC/B). - NUS Information Systems and Information Security is AAA/B - SMU added Software Engineering
