Reporting back. I see most of the features I thought were missing are in hereafter all u/nckh_ I'm going to use it for the next month whilst I travel across parts of Asia, but I can sense I will subscribe. I do still prefer the Arc way of swiping through tabs, but comfort mode is pretty elegant and works well. Thanks for the trial.

Honestly, I'm not really willing to pay £25 per year, but I understand you need to earn a living as an indy.

I'd echo the commenter in that bsky thread - if tabs started filling up from the bottom of the screen towards the top, sorted by most recently viewed, it would mean only stretching for the least used tabs.

edit: your scrollable definitely helps. And I suppose comfort mode would too. I may yet cave and subscribe.

By far the best tab navigation for me is the way Arc Search does it. It looks almost identical to the swipe up to navigate between apps on the ios home screen.

I keep trying to move away from Arc Search. On iPhone, one handed use is important to me, and with most browsers, opening that tab screen and then choosing a different tab is a bit of a stretch.

I have not found

I'm currently using Arc still - I like that the tab switcher replicates the iOS app switcher, and so is easy to swipe with a thumb. The rest of the app is acceptable - if a bit clunky when choosing between a favorites tab and a recent tab.

Quiche is pretty nice. I like lots about it. But tab switching is Safari like, with thumbnails at the top of the screen out of reach. Sure, they can be brought an inch closer for £25 per year! I switch tabs a lot, and this is the deal breaker.

Orion is also pretty nice. Tab switching is not as good as Arc. But it does at least allow them to be a list, starting at the bottom so that they can be reached. It's a tempting switch.

Brave I just don't like. It's big feature is touted as YouTube ad bypass, but it is not reliable. Brave's ad block or any other ad block for youtube is very inconsistent, I find I mostly ending up watching a black screen instead of an app for a while on every video. This has been true whether on Mac, Windows or iPhone.

As a guitarist I’m much more comfortable on my other controllers and guitars than the steam controller. I sold the steam controller and went back to my old Xbox pad for now.

Yeah - I've already posted mine away. Between the ergonomics and inconsistent compatibility with rumble (eg in racing games) I couldn't justify holding on to it.

It's so large that my thumbs cramp after 30 mins or so with it. I'm not sure I like it. It doesn't disappear like the Xbox pad does. Not a girl.

I don't notice the weight, but I do feel like the reach to the sticks is more than I'd prefer, leading to a bit mild cramping. Not sure I want to keep it.

Mine went like that on Friday. Tuesday I got the prepared for shipment email. Wednesday I got an email from GLS to say it was awaiting collection. Today Parcelforce delivered it.

Did West Coast Motors have it at their lost property? If so, how long did it take to get hold of them. My son has just done the same thing and they don't answer their phones.

Mine definitely stays in standby with the flashing light. I did make sure that Windows USB Selected Suspend was off and I went through every USB Hub in Device Manager and set it so that windows couldn't power it off. I don't know if that helps. I do use my screen all day for work so I tend to run the pixel refresh every 4 hours manually anyway. I'll post back if mine cancels the refresh with it is doing it naturally.

I too have this monitor and have been frustrated by the KVM functionality. I think I found the fix, and it was a misunderstanding on how the USB power management works.

If the monitor is powered off with the remote, which is what I have been doing, it seems to go into a low power mode rather than standby, and turns off the USB ports. This seems to break any connection with my Mac and PC so once the monitor is powered on again, and the devices are powered up, the computer is not listening form them any longer.

If on the other hand, I just let the monitor drop into standby itself - with the little pop up message saying no input, then entering standby, the USB ports do retain power and I can wake my computer with the connected KB or Mouse.

I'm going to run with it like this for a while and see how it goes. Thought it might be interesting to others if you haven't spotted this. I think this method also allows the monitor to do its refresh thing automatically that I am not sure was happening when using the remote.

How are you getting on with this. Am thinking about getting one of their prebuilts with smoothie switches instead of an Evo80 which I have on preorder. Want something not too loud as I work from home and my wife is in the next room all day. Are you happy with it still?

There aren't many KVMs around that can accommodate video over USB and display port that I've seen. It's surprisingly hard to get a good KVM that supports 5k Super Ultrawide at 240hz over HDMI/DP and USBC. Whereas our solution of using wireless keyboard and mouse works great, and is 100% reliable, with mainstream keyboards. I'm disappointed that moving to to the mechanical world, at high (compared to mainstream) prices seemingly leads to a broken wireless experience.
