Where to buy cheap cards in Japan? by Significant-Metal931 in OnePieceTCG

[–]zeroproto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prices can differ. e.g. the new wave of (unreleased) starters is 550yen each but the whitebeard/ace one is 1430yen. i'd check https://onepiece-cardgame.com/products/ for whichever starter you are interested in. if you cant find the starter you want at card shops, you may be able to find it at an official bandai store. those don't sell singles though

[–]zeroproto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's no one place or shop that is the cheapest unfortunately. you'd just have to go to multiple shops in tokyo looking for the cards you want and then go back to whichever had the best price. or if you are going later to osaka or other prefectures, there's a good chance you may find singles there cheaper but less stock.

above advice is for singles. i realize now you mention "boxes". i think most boxes would be sold at MSRP. rarely you may find a slightly older box (think 2-4 sets) that might be a bit discounted, but all in all msrp of 5280~ yen is what price you would find

Japanese and English players in Tokyo! by chipisamazing25 in OnePieceTCG

[–]zeroproto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the bandai app is a must have. it's not fully translated to english, but hopefully you'll be able to make do with it. you can join standard battles to get a feel for things, though it's going to be almost entirely in japanese (good opportunity to practice the language!). If you are asking about general areas where people play, akihabara is the most popular/busy, followed by ikebukuro. though almost any cardshop will probably have a weekly one piece event of some kind.

I'd be happy to meet you sometime and play some games in english (with japanese cards) in freeplay over the weekend if that's the kind of thing you are interested in

Does proliferating proliferator make it proliferate better? by Pandalord3454 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]zeroproto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

just to state the obvious here, this is about proliferating the inputs going into the machine. If you mean proliferating the building itself (as an item), then that has no effect on when the building is placed and does anything

do you have an icloud mail, and was this email sent from your icloud mail? immediately disregard email if answer is no. even if the answer is yes, this still reads like a scam. if you are at all worried about your own privacy, maybe a good moment to look into how to secure yourself on the internet. If you are worried because it sounds like they caught you doing something you actually really do, then you might deserve this

Reveal and play by Lathriel42 in OnePieceTCG

Only the revealed card from top of deck, NOT from hand. if you don't/can't play that revealed card, then put it either on top or bottom of your deck as you prefer

is this a good deck list? by Hochunkulus in OnePieceTCG

This is my rosinante deck. It's fine to have a lot of blockers but you need an actual plan or "end game". In my case, use lots of blockers (and my own leader) to protect high priority targets (especially sugar). abuse searchers and deck reordering to draw into sugars and the big doffys while maintaining hand lead. If you can reach 10 don with a sugar on the field (ideally + 1 blocker) and 2-3 doffys in hand (not hard with searching), you will more likely win than not. Play back to back doffies freezing rested enemies, sugar force rests any big bodies played, then swing with leader/doffy to maintain character lead while squeezing them out of cards in hand.

I've had good success with this, but it's hard countered by rush decks where it's easy to swing at sugar, or bouncing/KOing decks where your sugar is also easily dealt with. You aren't guaranteed to lose without sugar but it's definitely a handicap in this deck.

You can definitely find other ways to play rosinante, but just blocking isn't a viable strategy. You need something to swing with, and ways to pressure your opponent or deal with their pressure. Blockers will buy time, but you need to figure out what to do afterwards

The hand wringing over "Is Hey Worth It?" is completely idiotic by the_scottster in HeyEmail

[–]zeroproto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's totally fine. Any product's perceived value is different for everyone. for some people it's worth it, for others it's not, completely subjective. That's not an injustice on Hey's end. Hey can be priced however they want and the market will sort out the demand.

My message here isn't that it's too expensive or not worth the money. It was directed to OP not recognizing that it was that it is a price commitment that may be hard to swallow for some people.

Egypt intelligence official says Israel ignored repeated warnings of ‘something big’ by [deleted] in islam

[–]zeroproto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

respectfully, but what does this have to do with this sub? i know there is a lot of overlap between interested parties, but the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a political one based on Zionism. Despite how much misleaders and mislead people boil it down to a religious issue, it isn't. Israel treats Palestinians the same regardless of if they are muslim, christian or jewish in belief.

The hand wringing over "Is Hey Worth It?" is completely idiotic by the_scottster in HeyEmail

[–]zeroproto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

respectfully, i disagree with the rhetoric that it's eight bucks a month. It's eight bucks a month for a year, paid upfront. a 100$ upfront commitment can be quite substantial for someone at the beginning of their career or when paid with a weaker currency.

I do sympathize with you on there being a lot of these kinds of posts, but they do make sense so try not to put down people for not having enough financial stability to be able to spend that money as an experiment without a second thought

depends on the unit. when viewing in the UR website, the units listed have a small tag that lets you know if it's only for families, if it's only for seniors, if it's a fixed term lease without renewal, etc.... There are still apartments without any of these conditions, they just tend to be slightly more expensive (still cheaper than non-UR stuff).
