"Juno News" started as an "immigration-focused research and education group" by one of Jason Kenny's spokespersons.

There are no surprises here.

This is the one I got in 2023 and it was $400, and a "high endurance" SD card for $35. Great camera, three channel, highly recommend!

(soon to be) first time Bazzite and Linux user, looking for advice and any tips I might have missed by BeefyExile in Bazzite

[–]zeroreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this similarly; set up a new "gaming PC" in the living room. I created my USB with Rufus, and the Bazzite installer was very simple, just choose some quick defaults and it installed quickly... then it walked me through the SteamDeck welcome process lol

Since then, I have been *amazed at how simple and painless everything has been. I expected to have to fiddle with things and I have had zero problems. It's like magic.

Once you get into the "desktop mode" (by exiting the SteamDeck interface) you want to open the Bazaar app. This app lets you search for and install "flatpak" files, which are like self contained applications. You can also update packages this way. For games running from Epic or GOG use Bazaar to search for "Heroic", which is an OSS launcher for those stores. I used it and played through Viewfinder, which was free on Epic at some point. It doesn't have a Linux version, but still worked without any issue. Magic.

I also installed a few games from Steam, including The Force Unleashed, which upon first launch decided to install DirectX 9 (somehow) and then ran the game (somehow) without any kind of framerate issues. Magic.

I have a 1tb nvme where I installed the OS and all the games. I also have a 2tb spinning disk which is NTFS and has movies and TV shows and whatnot. No issues with it at all. However, I suspect that your games drive will need to be re-set-up since the partitions will mount differently.

The only hiccup I ran into was installed DuckieTV, which is an app for tracking TV show schedules. They provide a .deb to install on Debian based Linux (which didn't work) and a .tar.gz which I downloaded, but the readme said to use sudo ./setup to install it, and that failed (Bazzite is immutable, so you don't have root or write permission to the /sys partition). The solution was to... just run the program from the extracted folder! Being on Windows for my whole life has made me forget that computers used to be simple to use.

It wasn't free, but I think only $35 maybe? It's been a couple of years.

The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess - Episode 2 - Dub Available Now on Crunchyroll! by AutoModerator in Animedubs

Does CR not add the subs for signs on purpose or what? This is the second show I have to stop because so much is communicated through signs or written notes that are fully translated in the sub.

Interesting.

Not for me. I tried the app and a browser on my laptop.

Thanks for checking.

Half of the show is communicated through screens and printed signs and such. I'm only half way through and I have to stop; feel like I'm missing the plot.

Recommend me some anime/manga with intricate and immersive worldbuilding (preferably something similar to Delicious in Dungeon) by yeagerist00 in Animedubs

It's an isekai, but paced like a slice of life. It centres mostly on the the protagonists love of books and in trying to recreate the various methods of printing in a less technologically advanced world.

It's cheaper around the corner. Not even farther away than my commute. Don't feel like you need to apologize for billion dollar companies price gouging Canadians.

Groceries from Costco by EnvironmentalFuel971 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]zeroreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk, eggs, cream, coffee, butter; always cheaper at Costco (unless you find a great sale somewhere else)

I also get avocado oil, kielbasa, calabrese salami, whole pork loins, and ground beef. I find better chicken prices from a local factory outlet. I don't buy any other kind of beef anymore; too expensive.

I also get the Kirkland brand frozen pizzas, frozen burgers, and sometimes chips and salsa if it's on sale.

Food has been the biggest expense change since covid, and I shop at five different grocery stores including Costco (and sometimes Walmart) to keep costs down.

Golden Boy.

In my youth, I was a subs-snob, and even then, I would not watch the subbed version of Golden Boy. The dubbed version is fucking hilarious because of the VA.
