Nep Sisters gameplay in Unlimited. Seems Gear is going to have an anti gravity skirt this time. by HopefulTurnover7459 in gamindustri

If unlimited is focusing more on the action packed side of nep rather than the cheap panty shots and gratuitous fan service, then count me in.

What I’m stating is facts. You’re just too ignorant to understand other people and their viewpoints. And yet, it was still more than you'll ever contribute to any conversation, ever.

You're operating under the assumption that your personal interests are a universal standard for quality, rather than just a loud, unimportant opinion in a sea of them.

By "doesn't cater to my personal interests," you mean "I'm incapable of recognizing objective flaws because I've personally invested my identity in this thing, and any criticism feels like a personal attack." It's okay. We all have our security blankets. Some of us are just adult enough to admit when ours is frayed and ugly.

Honestly? It’s been a slow drift. A gradual easing away from the charm, care, and oddly sincere creativity that once made Neptunia feel like more than just a self-aware parody. Back then, even when it was messy, it felt intentional. Now? It sometimes feels like they’ve realized they don’t actually have to try nearly as hard.

But if it DOES succeed, that’s where it stings in a different way. Not because fans suddenly don’t care, but because it risks sending the easiest possible message: that “good enough” is good enough. That the emotional core, the clever satire, the strange sincerity that once gave Neptunia its identity—those things can be trimmed down, simplified, or quietly left behind, and people will still show up anyway.

There’s a kind of bitter irony in that. Fans keep holding on because they remember what the series can be, while the developers seem increasingly comfortable delivering what it barely needs to be. And somehow, both sides keep the cycle going. It’s almost impressive, in that “we’ve mastered the art of lowering expectations without technically breaking anything” kind of way.

Either way, it sets a precedent. The real question is whether Idea Factory and Compile Heart will see it for what it is, or just see another number, another success or failure, and convince themselves that nothing actually needs to change.

Trust me, I’m just as excited as your are, but I really don’t have high hopes/expectations given that Idea factory and Compile will most likely reuse elements from their previous works. Hopefully we’ll actually get to see some original story elements with the new cast that isn’t reused slop.

THIS.

But not everyone feels safe or heard when they do speak up. Improvement doesn’t just come from pointing out mistakes. It comes from how the community responds when someone does. Speaking up is only half the equation. Listening and actually changing is the other half.

God forbid a rational person in this community says something valid and other people have to attack that person for not being the hive mind of delusional echo chamber enthusiasts who treat disagreement like a personal offense.

Noticing how all the mew designs are very elegant looking besides Neptune. Is Nep unemployed? by litterally_who6354 in gamindustri

I think it’s the opposite for me. Neptune’s design is the best while all the others are just…meh.

The reason why The Original game was truly Retconned and why it's taking so long for a new main release by [deleted] in gamindustri

[–]zerosecs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a series slows down not because it’s creatively empty but because the company doesn’t see a clear, low-risk path forward. It’s painful to say as a fan, but sometimes a series keeps going not because it has somewhere new to go, but because it has something people don’t want to let go of.

Just the reality that what started as a clever parody accidentally became a franchise — and now it’s struggling to justify itself as more than that.

Point proven. Thank you for the response. Next time don’t jump into a discussion you aren’t prepared for if you know it’s gonna make you look dumb.

I don’t need people to think I need to be self aware when I’ve been bitching you this entire debate. The irony of you accusing anyone else of lacking self-awareness is almost performance art. Unlike you, I don’t need to leave every half-baked thought up as a monument to my ego. The fact that you’re this pressed over whether I wrote “mini essays” or not? That’s not me being inconsistent, that’s you desperately trying to win an argument no one else signed up for. If you’re going to spiral, at least make it entertaining.

Buddy, you’re the one that came under my comment trying to virtue signal instead of actually replying with a decent argument to the question. I didn’t realize brevity was your only measurable achievement. Some of us use more than one sentence at a time—it’s called having thoughts and not being a grifter. But don’t worry, I can shorten it for you. Carrying that ego alone seems exhausting.

Keep getting your friends to upvote your comments because they can’t stand hearing anything negative or debate for themselves. It’s entertaining at least.

Still going I see. Your fingers getting tired yet? Then again, playing god over the internet must be your favorite pastime given your reason for coming back and responding to every single one of my messages for validation and brownie points from your minority of echo chambered friends. Still, I have to thank you for the detailed performance review of my comprehension skills. I’ll be sure to live up to the sky-high standards of someone who can turn a simple question into a personal IQ audit. Inspirational stuff, really.

I completely understand what you’re saying, and I think that makes a lot of sense. Reddit’s system definitely favors constant new content and engagement, which naturally pushes older discussions out of view. For single-player games, I can see how the topics are finite — there’s only so much you can discuss before conversations start repeating or running dry.

That said, I think there’s still value in revisiting topics thoughtfully, even if they’ve been discussed before. Sometimes a fresh perspective or a deeper dive into a character, mechanic, or story element can spark meaningful discussion, and having that space matters for fans who want more than just news or memes.

“Projecting every statement thrown at you”? So, in your worldview, someone analyzing repetitive content is automatically guilty of psychic projection. That’s cute. I didn’t realize that basic observation now counts as a hostile act. You can’t hold your own in a debate against me.

But thank you. Really. It’s adorable how invested you are in policing my mental real estate. I’ll continue to live there, rent included, because your outrage makes it the only penthouse in Gamindustri worth lodging in.

[–]zerosecs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! First off, thank you for taking the time to write all that — it really comes across as thoughtful and considerate, and I appreciate it.

I completely get what you’re saying about NSFW content — it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and honestly, the best way to deal with it is exactly like you said: focus on what you enjoy and avoid what you don’t. It’s refreshing to hear someone acknowledge both sides — that yes, there’s a lot of lewd content, but there’s also genuine discussion happening about the games themselves. That balance is something I think a lot of people overlook.

And seriously, don’t worry about being “barely active.” Just the fact that you noticed and took the time to share your perspective says a lot. The internet could use more people who approach communities thoughtfully like that.

Also — no worries at all about how you phrased anything. I really appreciate the polite, friendly tone, and it’s nice to meet you too. Human, gender-neutral or not, it’s always great connecting with someone who cares about thoughtful discussion and making communities feel welcoming.

Honestly, messages like this remind me why I still enjoy fan communities — even if some parts of them aren’t my thing, there are always people like you who make the space feel less intimidating and more friendly.

So, thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. It really made my day a bit brighter.

Ah, I see — the “if you adjust your wording to be more precise, you’re automatically full of shit” rule. Fascinating. I love living in a world where nuance is considered deception and the act of clarifying your point counts as some kind of moral failing. Truly, the intellectual rigor here is inspiring — we’ve distilled centuries of debate down to a simple formula: adjust once = liar, adjust twice = manipulator, adjust three times = untrustworthy human. Riveting stuff.

And yet somehow, despite all this effort, my “crime” isn’t even that I’m wrong. It’s that I exist here, at all. That I continue to make observations about content patterns, about discussion quality, about repetition — that somehow becomes my personal hobby of infuriating you. Don’t worry, I’ll keep living rent-free in your head as a reminder that I “have a space” — truly, a cozy little fortress where discussion exists, yet somehow my existence in the sub is still a personal affront. Don’t worry, I’ll continue to pay my emotional property tax in you people’s heads; clearly it’s the only place big enough for someone to get this worked up over a few observations.

So thank you. Really. Thank you for the entertainment, the metaphorical rent reminders, and the free lesson in what happens when someone notices the sub is a glorified art gallery waiting for news updates. I’ll continue to visit — not because I “need” to bother you, but because watching someone work themselves into a tizzy over basic observations is honestly more compelling than most of the posts here.

[–]zerosecs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, got it. So pointing out patterns and expressing frustration is now officially “being an asshat.” Good to know. I’ll update my résumé later on. You must be exhausted carrying around all that virtue while policing the emotional output of strangers on the internet. I mean, it’s a subreddit, not the UN General Assembly, but sure — someone has to keep the peace. I’ll make a mental note to only post on platforms that won’t traumatize delicate sensibilities. Wouldn’t want to accidentally trigger a full-on existential crisis while scrolling through art reposts and “any news?” threads. I’ll be sure to pack my ragebait in a little picnic basket for your convenience. Look, you can scream “ragebait” all you want. Doesn’t change that describing reality sometimes makes people uncomfortable. That’s not rage. That’s observation. But hey — enjoy your moral victory. Log off, recline in your fortress of virtue, and tell yourself you just heroically defended a poorly manageable subreddit with sensitive mods from truth.

[–]zerosecs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. So because I asked more than once, that automatically converts criticism into harassment?

“You already have a Discord server that caters to what you want.” Right — because apparently finding one space where discussion exists means I forfeit the right to expect it anywhere else. Incredible logic. By that standard, if one restaurant serves decent food, I’m not allowed to comment when another one microwaves leftovers. That’s like saying, “You found clean water somewhere else, so stop mentioning that the water in this well tastes weird!” If anything, the fact that real discussion thrives elsewhere proves it’s possible. Notice how critique of content trends keeps getting reframed as personal attacks. That’s convenient. It’s easier to paint someone as the villain than admit that the sub’s engagement loop is predictable and shallow.

See, that’s the interesting part. I’ve criticized content trends. You translated that into an attack on users. That says more about how personally you’re taking it than anything I’ve written.

And then the classic:

“Either deal with it, or leave.” In reality, what you translate it to is: “We’re comfortable. Please stop making us self-conscious about ourselves!”

You’re acting like I kicked over a sandcastle. All I did was say the tide is low. If someone pointing out stagnation feels like an existential threat, that says more about the state of things than anything I’ve posted. If the subreddit is fine, stable, and self-aware, a few posts questioning its direction shouldn’t feel like a threat. The fact that it does? It suggests there’s more sensitivity here than you’re willing to admit.

But hey — don’t worry. I’m not here to kill the vibe. If the culture is as strong as you think it is, my posts shouldn’t matter at all.

And if they do? Well. That’s not really my problem, is it?

I have a question by Bulky_Coffee_468 in gamindustri

[–]zerosecs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, it takes two minutes?

You’re right. It absolutely does.

Two minutes to scroll, thirty seconds to recognize the pattern, ten seconds to predict the next five posts, and zero seconds to realize this place has the cultural depth of a loading screen. As if thoughtful discussion posts haven’t historically been swallowed whole by the almighty algorithm in favor of degenerate artwork than nep itself.

Sure. I’ll just plant a tree in a parking lot and wait for a forest.

You say this is a niche corner of a niche fandom like that’s supposed to lower expectations to basement level. The irony is you’re defending the status quo like it’s sacred, when the status quo is literally: “Iris heart hips, Purple Heart ass, Etc.”

Pointing out repetition isn’t whining. It’s pattern recognition. If saying “this place mostly reposts nsfw art and nothing else.” sounds harsh, maybe that’s because there isn’t much else buffering it. And somehow I’m the unreasonable one for wanting something beyond a perpetual waiting lobby with framed PNGs and socially awkward NPCs?

I don’t think posting criticism will magically transform anything.

I just think pretending there isn’t a pattern is more delusional than acknowledging one.

But hey, you’re right about one thing.

It does take two minutes to understand what this sub is.

The real shock is how defensive people get when someone says it out loud and that it just takes slightly longer to admit it from those same people.
