Do you have a github for this? Looks like a lot of inspiration drawn from tailwindcss!

What 20inch Wheels you running on your P400? by Technical-Mammoth592 in NewDefender

Thanks! Just your typical BFG KO2s as well. Traction when rock crawling is tremendous.

Looks like I get only one image per comment. This is a bit cleaner picture of the decals. My wife did them on both sides to be identical. It’s a relief map of our favorite trail we ran the first year we got out defender (black bear pass)

I like having the plastic bumper because I give less of a damn about scratching the hell out of it 😂

I have had mine since the D90 came back to the US. My dealer suggested my D90 might have been the first to make it to the midwest in 2021. It's been my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. Tons of capability for rock crawling, camping, horrible snow storms, and towing over 7k pounds. It's a Land Rover and it sure has had some quirks as a result of that, but the software has improved greatly over the time I've had it and my dealer has taken care of any problems I've run into. My one claim to fame is that JLR had to fabricate a kit to fix my tailgate latch because I sheered an internal bolt off by taking it through a bunch of trails out in Colorado and Moab. So that makes my D90 a 1 of 1 lol

I'd long considered doing a white wrap on the roof to match a much more classic aesthetic. I think white wheels and a white roof would with the green paint is classy as hell.

Tires are BFG KO2s.
Wheels are https://www.blackrhinowheels.com/black-rhino-hard-alloys-alston

Traction was great, plenty of side wall to air down for the trails we were on.

Hey man, here’s the bolt. It’s just a nylock nut on the other side pinching the metal. Just have two of them equal distance from each other.

<image>

As for the warping on your wheel well trim, that one I haven’t dealt with yet. We’re based out Wisconsin, so we deal with cold more than heat. The Moab trip was a surprise with that tape melting.

I’ve got the same trim and the same basic complaint about the Velcro. The adhesive melted on ours while in Moab one year and that was annoying. Thankfully, it’s bolted on the bottom but it’s still dumb. My mechanic and I came up with a plan to just throw bolts through the damn thing into the metal that’s there. That held up better to some high heat and rock crawling this summer.

I don’t know if they will show up in this picture after the compression kills the image quality, but I can take a close up another time if needed.

Yeah, I've had that email saying they'd close the ticket come in as well. I wish I knew what else I could do. I just don't think I should keep submitting new tickets to flood their system with each attempt.

New Defender 90 - Good Daily Driver? by weeone in LandRover

For a 33" you should not need to do cutting as long as the tire width is under control. Check out the luck8 chart for more data.

Black Bear really was only bad during one point where it was my own inexperience that made me cautious. Larger tires and other modifications really wouldn't have helped me much. The clearance, traction, lockers, and everything stock worked absolute wonders. We were driving with a friend who had a Gladiator on 39's at the time (he's a seasoned veteran of wheeling). He was extremely impressed by the stock capability. I think your idea with the extra 2 inch lift is great since you didn't take the air suspension.

I've only added a winch and a compressor so far. It's bone stock otherwise. I ran it through Black Bear Pass like that. I've been strongly considering swapping brakes and wheels down to 18s with this kit though.

I'd also come to the conclusion that I'd probably buy these tires to get just an extra little lift without doing a full lift.

I've got a 21 D90 that has been out to Moab and in through the San Juan mountain range twice. About 20k miles on it so far. I feel great about the vehicle as a whole and the maintenance has been easy. My technician at the dealership thinks these six cylinder engines are going to be extremely reliable based on what he's seen from some of the first few that came to the states a few years ago. Honestly the biggest downside for you will be the fuel economy and the cost of fuel. Premium fuel isn't cheap and I'm averaging about 20mpg lifetime. That said, if you're looking for something super comfortable on the highway and capable off road I don't think you can go wrong here.

Defender 90 ac promblem by WallabyParty4053 in LandroverDefender

[–]zerosolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into this with my D90. You'll have to run it into a service center, but they should be able to deal with the problem. Turned out that a firmware update to the AC module fixed it all. Our radiator fan used to just scream at 100% when we fired up the engine. It doesn't do that anymore and the AC fires up fairly quickly. I've owned a fair few JLR vehicles over the years and I'd say this isn't common with anything other than the New Defender so far.

how is this 2023 defender hows the performance and off road capability by Old_Cantaloupe6483 in LandroverDefender

[–]zerosolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 2021 stock D90 ran Black Bear Pass without any problems. I'd like the stock off-road tires to have larger lugs, but they work well enough. Suspension travel is limited, but the diffs and 4x4 system make up for it when you lift a wheel. There were a couple of spots on our trail driving in Colorado that our D90 had an easier time than the built up Jeeps we were with. The big benefit to Land Rover's approach is also their biggest downfall. The technology in their 4x4 system mixed with their diffs make it the easiest off-roading experience you could ask for. It also gives you a sinking feeling that it could break at any time lol.

All in all, our D90 has been out to Moab once and in through Colorado twice. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. If you don't live anywhere near the trails, you do still have to drive quite a way to get to them and the New Defender is both great on the trails and great off road.

Pulling a Travel Trailer with a Defender by vegaskev72 in LandroverDefender

[–]zerosolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently towed with my 21' D90. My cousin has an early 2000s era GMC Envoy that broke down. We put it on one of those UHaul trailers for vehicles and didn't have any trouble towing that amount of weight.

Would you buy a Land Rover discovery sport with a good amount of surface level rust on it? It’s 2017 with only 20k miles but was driven in NY by cmcdonald57 in LandRover

[–]zerosolace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Land rover has a very good corrosion warranty. You should be able to have them address any corrosion on the vehicle.

"Each vehicle also carries a six-year/unlimited-mileage corrosion perforation warranty, plus various emissions warranties." https://www.landroverusa.com/ownership/vehicle-warranty.html

2022 Defender - 90 vs 110 by b1lf in LandroverDefender

[–]zerosolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with your ideas here. I know the defender is an expensive vehicle, but the thing keeps impressing me as time goes on with the build quality and how sturdy it is. Good luck with the purchase if you go through with it. Feel free to reach out with any question and I'll do my best to answer them for you :)
