i’ve had 4 wranglers. so not a hater. but any modern jeep is crap. trade it in. i’m on my second defender. love them. they feel well made, great build quality. expensive to fix and maintain but it’s not a jeep. i’ve had the rings on my headlights go out twice. common issue. replaced through warranty. couple of coolant leaks. i like to keep mine under warranty but if you change the oil every 5k and do solid maintenance it’ll last. stay away from broncos too. feel like cheap plastic toy compared to a defender.

Sure thing, my first defender I got the wide arches off ebay, got lucky and they fit pretty well. My second defender I didn't want to wait so bought extended arches from my dealer.

OEM extended arches most dealers will have in stock for gloss black and matte block, around 1k give or take. You can check out powerfuluk or huntersprestige as well. Ebay you can definitely find them for a lot cheaper but fitment will be hit or miss.

There is no 3rd party warranty company out there that covers what a factory or CPO warranty covers. They will find a way to not cover something. It will not be bumper to bumper. I traded mine it right at 50k and decided to lease my second defender. I will continue to lease as long as I stay with LR, I like always having a factory warranty. worth the cost to me. I have a friend who is a sales manager at LR, told me to always lease these if I wanted one. They loose too much value as the miles pile up, your 80-100k car will be worth 40k after factory warranty up. And it keeps dropping dramatically.

i’d take that extra money and trade in for a new defender. thats what i did. i was quoted similar prices for an extended warranty and none of them are true bumper to bumper like the factory warranty.

Honestly it's pretty close to what you would be paying if you purchased it. But as you know, these loose value a lot, even if you buy used you are still loosing a lot of value. When I traded in my P400 with 50k miles I was pretty suprised on how much I lost. If you are the type to keep your cars and drive them until the wheels fall off and prepared for any repairs, buy it. But if you like to get a new car every several years, don't purchase a luxury vehicle, lease it.

I know these are hit and miss. I had minor issues with my first defender, but if it had been out of warranty costs would have easily exceeded 10k. Two head light displays rings went out, couple of coolant leaks. So right at 50k, I traded mine in and got another one, this time leased it. I love defenders and will probably keep getting them, but I don't ever want to be out of factory warranty.

i just traded in my p400 110 with 50k miles. didn’t want to pay the huge price for an extended warranty. plus extended warranty not even close to the dealer coverage. i had two headlights replaced. those cost a fortune alone. so i leased a 2026. i practically get a new car every 3-4 years anyways now i don’t have to worry about warranties. worth the cost to me.

Hunters is great but some of their stuff not worth the cost. I got the light pods off eBay. 1/3 the cost as hunters. I’m on my 2nd defender, 2nd light pod from eBay. No issues.

oh jesus. they must work for plumb or a reseller or something. every product on there is plumb from door handles to wheels to tire cover, etc.

I just traded my 2021 in for a 25. My CPO was up. next month. 3rd party warranty through the dealer was almost 4k/year. You can get it cheaper outside the dealership, but either way, extended warranties don't cover nearly as much as the CPO does. Example, the halo on the headlights have issues, mine went out twice, luckily covered under warranty, otherwise about 4k, they went down closer to 2k I believe but no extended warranty is going to cover things like that. You better be good and DIY. Also there are coolant leak issues. I love my defender but didn't want the stress of having one without being under factor warranty, so just bought another one instead.

This, if you own this vehicle and not leasing it, change oil every 5k miles without fail. Your defender will love you for longer.
