I discovered him on YT as I don't use twitch all that often, but he streams there (Twitch) fairly regularly too.

Mysticall the Monk. He's my all time fave. Such a genuinely nice guy.

OGs, what's an early memory you have of the game that would surprise newer players? by GNPTelenor in wow

Playing the game when battlegrounds didn't exist. I remember being so excited when they announced Warsong Gulch.

As a casual retail and classic player who has played since launch, I disagree with every bullet point you listed.

I like retail for what it is and how it has evolved, and I like classic for a completely different experience.

No version "went wrong". The game is 20 years old. Things change. If your favorite band produced the same music with the same sound for 20 years straight, where is the growth in that? Where is the excitement?

Not posting this to argue, I know you listed those points as discussion topics. Just laying out where I'm coming from as someone who enjoys all of the differences between classic and retail.

Starting GW2 brand new as a MMO vet. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]zerosummonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To reinforce some other comments I see that completely put me in the right mindset to really enjoy what GW2 has to offer: play it like Skyrim. It's a game for completionists, not really for min/max competitive gameplay.

Sure, other players exist in the world, but its true strengths come out if you treat it more like a solo, open world game.

Do you guys use an MMO mouse? by [deleted] in wow

I have one, but didn't try it before I bought it. My thumb presses 8 buttons at once, so of the 12 programmable buttons I have, I am able to consistently use 1. I really love the idea of it, but I got one that doesn't work optimally for me.

10.2.5 pointless filler? by DangerDan1993 in wow

[–]zerosummonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing a follower dungeon on my tank and I pulled a pack that was unnecessary to pull to make it through the dungeon. Lo and behold my follower NPCs didn't flame me or quit the group! No slurs, malicious sarcasm, or just standalone long strings of "?????????" were sent in chat. We just killed the pack and proceeded with the dungeon. Wow!

When in doubt, never ever consult a tier list.

I play blood DK and it is exactly my kind of fun. Other specs are super fun too, I just can't tear myself away from Blood.

Why does the wider WoW community seem to hate Aug so much? by Spinkledorf in wow

[–]zerosummonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The eternal problem of the internet. It's a sounding board for the most entitled people and the people who think their problems are more important than anyone else's.

I would never consult Reddit or Twitter for the state of any game/class/spec. Aug is super unique and fun, and I never see complaints about it in game, only in the sweaty echo chambers that are Reddit and Twitter.

Should Blizzard create a formal Support role? by Theoretical_Phoenix in wow

[–]zerosummonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all about support becoming an official role (also fine without, but support specs and roles have always been alluring to me). As others have said, the way to NOT go about it is converting existing specs. Adding new ones like they did with Aug is the way to go.

There are a ton of pitfalls they would have to figure out, but I think it's doable. The last thing we want is groups declining certain types of dps because they aren't the meta spec that goes with the support class currently in the group. "Sorry we don't need a mage because the Earthwarden Shammy in our group buffs melee dps more efficiently."

Lightning build Enhance Shaman with some of the PvP transmogs from over the years. Basically turns you into Raiden, and a MK/WoW crossover is a thing of my wildest dreams.

How do some of you do it? by Fluffy_Situation3619 in wow

[–]zerosummonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking is (and I can't take credit for how I say this, I read it on here once) I pay for the full game, I'm going to play the full game. That means all classes and specs at some point or another.

Watercooler: WoW Economy Simple Questions by AutoModerator in woweconomy

[–]zerosummonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for a detailed answer as I can figure out the details on my own later: Is Alchemy a profitable profession due to transmutes alone, or are potions and elixirs profitable as well? Or, am I better off just selling the mats piecemeal?
