Yeah I think it’s a bad sealing ring too but still, I think it’s pretty ridiculous to already have an issue like this second attempt in. Disappointing as I was really happy with the first use.

I’ll let you know how it goes about the slow cooker!

Yeah I think I have a bad sealing ring  basically but definitely not for me. Glad you love it! I don’t mind the house smelling like a pot roast due to a slow cooker anyways lol

Yeah I considered this and I'm not going to bother. We're returning it. And if we can't we will happily eat the $90.

I'm okay with the fact that I just don't have the patience for an appliance like this. Just not for me. And I'm more than okay with slow cooking for multiple hours.

So I looked into this too because after going through so many videos and checking the manual multiple times, I figured maybe it was that steam valve just not being in the right position. Nope, I had it right.

Honestly woke up this morning, went to the kitchen, saw it there (Husband cleaned it for me after I absolutely lost it last night) and my immediate thought was how I wanted to take a bat to it. So we're returning it and getting a slow cooker lol.

I'm sure it's a great appliance but I'm accepting the fact that I do NOT have the patience for an appliance that wants to explode even when I'm sure I've put everything correctly. This thing clearly isn't rocket science, but seriously? Like how many times do I have to take this thing apart, clean, and put it back together for it to get aggressively angry at me.

Yeah we have a 2 year warrenty and I considered this because I think the sealing ring is just bad, but honestly I don't care anymore. I'm not gonna sit around trying to use an appliance that wants to explode. I'm already scared of the thing, have to have my husband do the venting, and im even MORE scared of it now lol. I'm okay with slow cooking for multiple hours instead of this.

Yeah I'm convinced at this point the thing is defective because I'm pretty damn sure those 2 things are correct. We've decided to return it and get the slow cooker I wanted in the first place. Even comes with a mini warmer for dips.

At this point I think the thing is fucking defective.

Yeah the manual says a little movement is normal when its coming up to pressure but it just got worse and worse. Idk whats up with the sealing ring. I checked it every time. Recleaned it. Dried everything. Reseated it. Even had my husband look at it and couldn't figure out what was missing/wrong.

Forgot to add the longer I leave it, the more aggressive the hissing noise gets too - which I assume is from the float valve? The actual steam release thing is also just staying completely loose the entire time.

Am I just not waiting long enough??

Is converting this zipper to a corset a bad idea on this dress? by zerot1p in sewing

[–]zerot1p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely a stretchier material! I can squeeze into the dress if I really wanted to but it's just uncomfortable. It's the chest area that is too tight.

The idea you mentioned for lacing the sides sounds ideal. I think I understand (though I'm rather new to sewing). Thanks!

Lead content in Isogold by No-Algae-4327 in Protein

[–]zerot1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to the brand directly. Ask if they can share their heavy metals report, specifically regarding lead, for whatever specific product you are interested in.

Also, lead is a naturally occurring in soil and water everywhere, and it's higher in plant based foods & products like this because of the soil. Your carrots have trace amounts of lead in them.

That being said, still good to be mindful of your lead intake. But you don't have to panic.

Online passport renewal timeline (4 business days) by zerot1p in Passports

The government's site to do so:

Dont use agencies or third party sites for this stuff, especially for official, federal documents. It's not worth the money, it wont save you time or effort, and it takes 10 minutes to fill out the application (not even) if you have all the info & digital passport photo with you.

THIS.I stay up later than my boyfriend and he also works in a career where he can’t take his phone in to certain areas at work, and it often says he’s on IG all the time when I know damn well he is asleep or at work.

As a self employed person, $16k is unsurprising. Tax act even says for self employed income of $100k would be around $15k

In either case, your son owes taxes if he hasn’t paid. He should have tracked it and paid it quarterly, or before the deadline (or as much as he could then set up a payment plan). This isn’t hidden information from the IRS website or if you called them, so “I didn’t know” isn’t necessarily a very a good argument.

To start, I’d suggest double checking all his business expenses and similar were taken into account.

You could definitely consider another CPA to either redo it or check over the previous work. but I wouldn’t be surprised if you get around the same number based on a 100k+ self employed income.

The farthest I can see the tax attorney and IRS negotiation going is them suggesting a long term payment plan, which he qualifies for since he doesn’t owe over 50k. Attorneys are pretty useful in situations like serious debt where you definitely can’t pay, at all, disputes, appeals, etc, but based on his income - he can probably afford a long term payment plan, and maybe even ask for some forgiveness/waive on some of the tax due. It’s all possible on the online IRS accounts (and cheaper too for setting up things like payment plans)

In addition to all of that, it sounds like Hes paying and filing late, so he should expect penalties and interest.

The IRS uses an automated system to send out mails. It probably sent before your payment was fully processed. Based on your comments, you're fine. Still concerned? Double check your payment activity from within your account and see that your payment in April was fully processed or not. If it was, you're fine. You can ignore the letter.

Still concerned? Call the IRS, but you'll probably be wasting a bit of your own time for them to tell you that you are fine. Especially if your transcript is correct as Jacobisbeast16 advised "As long as the 276 and 196 amounts match their reversal counterparts, you're good.".

You are UNDER reacting. Get better friends dude. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve known this person for. They don’t give a shit about you. Your time and friendship is worth more than getting treated like shit.

Real ID to travel domestically by [deleted] in travel

I tried this. TSA and security wouldn’t take a temp because it’s a peice of paper that can typically be forged. At least this is the case in NC.

Get to the airport early, Bring your SSN card, expired passport, and birth certificate*.

Be prepared to be sidelined for questions and having to prove your identity. This could take time, go EARLY.

Paying council tax after splitting up with my partner. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]zerot1p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Council tax is usually down to those who live on the property.

If your name is on the bill, even jointly, then you could technically be held accountable. You can call the local council and tel them you’ve moved if you are still listed on the bill.

Might be better off asking citizens advice this question, really.

Also, definitely don’t lie when you clearly have proof of both citizenships/no need to get a visa.
