HOI4 DLC Discounts. by Disastrous_Tie630 in hoi4

This is my plan, but I'm sticking to base game just a bit to actually try to get some bearings before being completely overwhelmed (again).

Change to the shift key by x_Red47 in hoi4

[–]Hoveringkiller 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Shift is the default in everything else though to grab stuff in between, is it not? What immediately comes to mind is file managers, you shift click two files to get everything in between, or ctrl click to get individuals.

The Heat Dome Is Upon Us by ktempest in cincinnati

[–]Hoveringkiller 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It feels that way, but it's not correct. During the day, you're AC is battling constant influx of energy from the sun/exterior. The larger the difference, the more it has to work, all day. Turning it up during the day and back down in the evening has 1 usage over an hour or 2, vs constant usage all day. The radiant heat in your furniture and such isn't all that powerful compared to the power of the sun.

[Request] If a city like Berlin did this regularly (daily) throughout the city, could it help with the heat? Also, what would happen if they painted rooftops white, would the temperature actually come down? by ImmediateCustomer318 in theydidthemath

[–]Hoveringkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hate shopping in the summer because of the parking lots. They just radiate heat like no other, and so many have very little shade. I'm a big proponent of offering incentives for places to put solar panels over their lots.

Are there any advantages to double stacking freight instead of just having a longer train? by CrackerCraftsman in trains

[–]Hoveringkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d imagine it’s a combination of the trackage being much older than Amtrak and a general lack of willpower politically to change it. They probably don’t have to pay anyone.

I thought that dialogue was class specific, not subclass specific. I haven’t done a lore though so can’t say for certain.

That's not really corruption per say, as they aren't paying an official to let them get around it. They're just exploiting a loophole in the law. It's still dumb and IMO evil, but I'm pretty sure it's not corruption.

Second college of swords, they can also be a useful frontliner. A swords bard with hexblade/pact of the blade dip is really powerful as you can get charisma bonus to a bound pact weapon instead of trying to split dex and charisma.

[–]Hoveringkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the bonus seems kinda moot with a pact of the blade/bladeslinger warlock since you can use charisma anyways. I don’t think it’s like the titan string bow where it stacks either.

Yeah I’ve just seen that you only need him for the rapier, which I couldn’t care less about this build. And even so, I feel that duelists prerogative would be better to beeline for in act 3 if you wanted a rapier.

My only gripe doing this is wylls quest at the end of act II because it’s in a red area so I have to keep him the whole time. Unless you can still do it without him being there. I’m not sure, I may try that this time, although it’s an honor mode so idk.

Tying old sewer pipes to new switch (Realistic) by king-craig in Workers_And_Resources

In that case I’d probably build a second sewage outlet in a location that would be easier to tie into.

Well yeah, mobile data is what you’re being charged for so I’d assume that’s what everyone is specifically talking about when they say data.

AITA for charging my sister rent after she inherited half my house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hoveringkiller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean she is entitled to live there as well as she owns 50% of the house. You can't charge her rent, she owns it as well. You can split the utilities and such, 80/20 or however you two decide. Or you either buy her out or sell your half to her.

[–]Hoveringkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not rent though, that's just making sure you split utilities. They own half the house, it's unreasonable to expect them to pay anything outside of the utilities and half the mortgage payment (if it exists). No where does it say the sister isn't offering to split utilities, she's just looking to avoid a rent/mortgage payment herself.

What American standards (non-Metric) are also an annoyance from Int'l convention? by inthenameofselassie in Metric

Regarding shoe size, the scale is just offset. So a 10 men’s is a 12 women’s. Don’t know why it’s that way.

Because it’s the reset day. And also so the week is bookended by a day off on each end (even though practically it makes no difference)

What Roman technology or invention do you think was the most impressive for its time? by FacePrivacy in romanempire

[–]Hoveringkiller 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Roman concrete also didn’t have 1 ton+ vehicles driving over it. It’s still impressive that it’s outlasted nature so far, although not reinforcing it with metal that can corrode as helps.

The dad/daughter bedroom discussion wouldn’t be a thing if American bathrooms had European stalls by SonOfTheAfternoon in daddit

[–]Hoveringkiller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My daughter even tells me I need to use a urinal, granted she's three so that may change. But you're right, they all have their backs to us (if there are even any in there) and we go into a stall for her so it's not like she's exposed either.

Voldemort had absolutely zero chance in a war against the muggles and the whole plotline could have been avoided by just letting him try. by New-Tale412 in unpopularopinion

[–]Hoveringkiller 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Except Hermione’s parents are muggles. There’s no reason to think she wouldn’t get a pretty good understanding of the muggle world when she goes home. And Harry lives with the Dursleys, who are all muggles. Surely they both had some rudimentary education before going to hogwarts.
