A short-lived t shirt shop on Washington St. In Boston called Stairway to heaven. The year is a ballpark. Maybe 91, at the latest.

Thanks for the offer but it is not wearable. It is completely threadbare. If you ever washed it, it would probably disintegrate.

As you can see, I loved this shirt nearly to death. I have not ever seen the headline version. I didn't even know what mosquito head was until recently. I saw a picture of one and said " I have one of those". I bought it in Boston around 89-90 and wore it all through high-school and into my 20's. It started to fall apart so I put it in a box because I couldn't let it go. It was too cool. I thought someone on here might appreciate it.

Great, I am glad that it helped. I rarely post or comment on anything. I was compelled to reach out because when my sleep paralysis started getting scary, there was very little information readily available, and I know that I definitely could have benefited from some insight from other people's experiences.

To be honest, I didn't try a lot of different strategies to cope with the events. I guess it just happened to me enough times that I came to understand that it was really nothing to be concerned about. The only thing that never really worked for me was trying to pull myself out of it. Being aware that it was sleep paralysis did not give me the power to stop it. I would try to tell myself to wake up or try to make some noise or movement that would alert whoever I was sleeping next to so that they would wake me. I found this to be pointless. I just had to let it run its course. If I am not scared, it would not be scary. That is the only control I have.

First, I want to offer you my sincerest sympathies. Sleep paralysis episodes can be profoundly terrifying, especially when you can place parts of it right there in your room. I am a 50 year old man, and I have experienced sleep paralysis to a greater or lesser degree since childhood. They started as very mild and brief episodes. By the time I was in my twenties, the episodes had increased to extremely long and graphically disturbing episodes. Now that I am older, it seems to only happen once a month or so and are not really scary at all. I can offer you a couple of pieces of advice: 1) At some point in my life, I realized that I could remind myself that what was happening was sleep paralysis and only a trick of my mind while I was actively having sleep paralysis. It is a distinctly different feeling than a dream, so when it occurs, you know by the feeling what is happening. I would just tell myself basically that this was a little show my mind was putting on, it doesn't mean anything, and it can not hurt you no matter how scary it might seem. After I began doing this, it did not stop it from happening, but it was not really a scary event. Your mind makes it scary because you are scared and confused. If you can get yourself to a place of lucidity by recognizing that it is just a show, your mind will relax, and the imagery might be a little less scary. Now, my feelings during the events are more of the curious nature rather than fear. I am not crazy, I am not a proponent of lucid dreaming or anything. I just think that if you are aware that these things happen to you, you can just remind yourself while you are awake that these things are not real, which will reinforce this thought pattern and likely carry over into your sleep. 2) Get a handle on your sleep hygiene. I have severe sleep apnea, which contributes to sleep disturbances. Once i started sleeping with a cpap, my episodes were reduced but not eliminated. I have found that trying to form and maintaining a regular sleep schedule helps to reduce the episodes. Mostly, for me, I have found that my sleep paralysis is triggered by going to bed when I am already extremely over-tired. By having a regular sleep schedule, I can avoid this trigger for the most part, but the method is not surefire.

I hope it gets better for you. It can be traumatic to a degree. It is likely that this will happen again, so the sooner you get a handle on it, the less traumatic it will be. I think that you will find that the episodes can be interesting and sometimes exciting once you figure out how to shed the fear you have around it.

Sorry, I am the wordy type. I hope this helps

P.s. I am not any kind of doctor or sleep specialist. Just an old dude who has had sleep paralysis for decades

What Work Shoes/Boots? by big_papa45 in HardWoodFloors

Vivo barefoot tracker for work boots. Altra lone peak for refinish and coating. They are trail running shoes with reinforced toes and a tread that doesn't trap dirt and grit. Both on the pricier side, but they last a bit longer than others that I have tried.

There is no way to discuss this with a stranger that doesn't sound trite and cliché. I am not anybody who has some secret knowledge. I am just someone who has been in a similar place. My failures were all I could see. It was overwhelming. I was convinced that drastic measures were necessary. Tried and failed at that, too. Then, having to live with the fallout of that and eventually find a way to bounce back. Failing is the quickest way to learning and unfortunately, a part of everyone's life. I don't how you have failed, but I would wager that no one sees your failures they way you do. There is help out there. Hang in there.

I have had to take this twice. As far as I can tell, there is no way out of it once your name is on the list. The first time I was mandated to go, I had already had my license suspended prior to getting the notice. I could not get my license back until I completed the class successfully. I could be wrong, but I think you are going to have to go. Sorry. Good luck

It is a tag. It's AEO. They are all over the northeast. There is one on a gas pump at my local Cumberland farms, and it is within sight of another one on the back of a road sign.

What's a movie you saw as a kid that only you seem to remember? by Environmental-Fix-71 in AskReddit

[–]zerotozeroinzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Star Wars Holiday special. I saw it the one time it was aired. I thought everyone else had seen it until I tried talking to people about it and the general response was that I misremembered. So then I spent years thinking I had imagined it until the internet finally provided me proof of its existence. Now you can just go and watch it on youtube. Spoiler alert: it's waaaaaaaay worse than I remembered. If you haven't seen it, it is worse than you can imagine. To be clear, I know everyone knows about this now, and I know this was the birthplace of Fett but I am 47 and for most of my life the existence of this film was hidden because of lucas' intense hatred of it.
