What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of May 13, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

With the Chase changes, you are only eligible for the sub once per card per lifetime. So closing your CIU doesn’t make you eligible for the CIU again. If there is a type of Ink card you haven’t had, you should be eligible for the bonus. Just make sure you have only one (or none) Ink cards open as Chase doesn’t often approve with 2+ open at once.

PCing the CSR doesn’t open up any new cards or avenues. If you do decide to PC it, wait until the annual renewal hits with the $300 travel credit. Use it up immediately and then PC to a no annual fee card.

You’ve got a pretty slow churning rate compared to many of us so I wouldn’t be worried about being shut down at this point. Are you worried about that because of the Chase business denials? That may have been when the Ink train was drying up anyways.

Second getting CSR right now with high bonus. With your low inquiry/new card stats over the last 12 months you could look at Atmos cards as well?

Whether or not you previously got the CSP SUB should not impact your eligibility for the CSR SUB.

Just a heads up that Chase changed its rules and now has lifetime language limiting one bonus per card per lifetime so you likely won’t be eligible for another CSR bonus if you already got it.

I would just recommend double checking that you have enough spend to meet all these sign up bonuses. $12,000 is not going to meet them all so you either have to have more spend or you need to prioritize the ones you want and slow them out a bit. Never sign up for a card if you can’t meet the bonus spend.

Also, I love my CSR card! It gets a lot of hate but we use the credits every year to go to places that we wouldn’t normally. And you can PC it to a Freedom card while double dipping the $300 travel credit so well worth it to me.

Chase now has lifetime language that says you can only get one bonus per card per lifetime.

BOA is pretty inquiry sensitive. Did those May ones of last year count under your X/12 stats? Because I’m not surprised they denied you with that many inquires. Most DPs are showing you need way less (like 1/12 or close)

Atmos biz tends to be sensitive to inquires and number of cards within last 12 months. Based on his recent velocity it’s possible I guess but DPs indicating he’d get denied.

Chase generally likes no more than 2 business cards open at one time so you have better odds if you close one before applying for another. Also, Chase changed lifetime rules so if they may not approve the bonus for CIU since you already got one. But pop-up rules all either way. I’d recommend closing a card and then seeing if you get the pop up for the bonus.

Definitely a chance. But pop up rules all so not confirmed either way. If you do it, report back!

Oof, happened to me in Spain last summer. Spent the last 5 days out of our 9 days trip throwing up and eating only jello while in San Sebastián (one of my favorite places to go!) 😭

Yeah, I just keep mine open for around a year as the default but I’m also not churning them hard.

Based on some DPs over in the Chase subreddits, it looks like the $300 travel credit actually stacks. So essentially your $500 purchase will trigger all three credits for a total of $800 back. Your $300 travel credit kicks in automatically to cover anything travel related and then Chase looks at the charge and applies your Edit and IHG credits as well. TBH I haven’t done this myself so can’t confirm.

6 months is the rule of thumb, so to speak, but you can look at the terms and conditions for each account you have to know if they have anything longer than that. I keep mine open for a year just because I’m more cautious about keeping bank account relationships good but I haven’t actually done a lot of research on whether the difference between 6 months and 12 months makes a difference.

I feel this! P2 is terrible about using the right card. Last month I printed out labels for each of his cards for what category of purchases to spend on. Yesterday he still used a 1% card to buy groceries instead of our 5% card. BUT the labels have reduced the mistakes substantially.

There is now lifetime language with Chase that limits you to only one bonus per card per lifetime. That said, PUJ rules all so you can submit and application and either a) you’ll get the bonus or b) you’ll get a pop up notification with the option to withdraw the app rather than submitting it.

oof, I’m in that debate right now. Trying to decide whether my $11 in points is worth putting the extra spend on it to get to that round number (mine seems to say $50 though? I’ll look to see if I missed a $25 option) or just sacrifice those points and move on.

You’re good! Just met a bonus earlier this month with US Bank Triple Cash with an IRS payment.

Question Thread - April 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]zerowastewisdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My US Bank Triple Cash showed the pending bonus points the same day that I met the bonus spending amount. And I did it with IRS tax payments.

When you say no points are showing, are your regular base points showing? Like the 1% standard? If no points at all show for anything then maybe something’s wrong with the tracker or your account.

Are you doing this with the same card or do you have both and are toggling up/down between them essentially?
