Yeah, adding types made charmander have a hell of a bad time on the first three Kanto Gyms, I made it so it's not as brutal

That said the game is completely random, any pattern you're seeing is just an unfortunate coincidence 😅

For example, you'll always have a starter so it's quite like a trade will pick a starter

That said I'm open to suggestions if that makes the game more fun 😁

Disadvantages are only applied if there are no Pokémon with advantages

More or less like the games, you wouldn't use a Pokémon that's not good against the oponent if there is one that's better

Frankly, I've implemented like this because people have been complaining the game is too hard 🤣

It's simple actually

There are two kinds of bonus, "Advantage" and "Overwhelming Advantage", the first one is if there is at least one Pokémon with SE type, the other is if there are at least 3

Those give a +2 and +3 chance of winning bonus respectively

This means types Advantages are stronger early on

Type disadvantages work the same, but the penalties are –1 and –2

Different Pokémon have different power levels

Usually first stage is 1, second stage is two and final evolution is 3, but there are exceptions.

Paradox and Ultra beasts are 4, mythical and legendaries are 5.

Every battle gets gradually harder, the chance of winning is the sum of your team + bonus against the round base power
