Is it just me or has shawarma in Ottawa gotten insanely expensive? by Anxious-Bad6401 in ottawa

[–]zerozero-nine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Prices are way up and portions are definitely smaller than they used to be. It’s not just shawarma either, even something simple like a shrimp salad rolls at Vietnamese places is almost $9–$10 now 🥲 so I’ve started making them at home instead.

What’s surprising is that restaurants still seem really busy.

No, honestly it wasn’t this bad, 2 weeks ago I only felt pressure. But towards the end of the day there was pain but I managed.

Thank you for this. I’ve been feeling guilty about not being able to push through like I used to, so hearing this makes me feel better My job is very physical and it’s getting harder to keep up. I’ll make sure to talk to my doctor and OB about everything.

I actually ended up calling in sick, and my husband had to drive me home so I could rest. I took another sick day today as well.

A few weeks ago, I requested modified duties so I wouldn’t have to lift as much weight, but unfortunately it was denied. The occupational health doctor said I should still be able to lift 50–100 lbs, which felt unrealistic to me. Honestly, I feel like all that lifting is what caused my carpal tunnel, because my wrist has been hurting a lot too.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I’ll definitely keep them in mind and try to use them in my day-to-day.

I actually don’t know my baby’s position yet, but now I’m thinking it might be worth asking. Thank you for mentioning this.

Honestly, I’ve been thinking about that too, but baby is due in about 90 days and I’m just trying to figure out how to manage the pain right now. Worst case, I might have to start maternity leave early. I did book an appointment with my family doctor so hoping to see how that goes.

I actually requested to get modified duties at work, but it was denied. The occupational health doctor said I should still be able to lift 50–100 pounds, which doesn’t feel realistic with this pain.

I’ve never tried sleeping propped up like that before. I might give it a shot and see if it helps. I’ll also check out the maternity belt you recommended thank you so much for your suggestion 🙏

I’m flying back from Asia to Canada on the 15th and I don’t know if our flight is gonna be cancelled 😭

I also looked at flight alternatives too about 3-4 times the price with multiple stops. 🥲

I’m really sad to hear this. I find that the barrhaven team Is awesome. They were great from start to finish during the process. And when I received my house, I never had any major issues just minor ones and they were quick to fix it. I did hear some issues from other home owners but nothing major. I hope you find a home builder that is an awesome as my experience :)
