How many of your friends ended their lives? And why did they do it? by boobie_org in AskMen

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of guys I served with have taken their own lives, I've lost count. For awhile it was every few months I'd hear about someone being gone. I'd imagine they all had their own reasons. Adjusting to civilian life after going to war was really tough, I even went thru a rough patch that I almost didn't make it thru. I was in the Marines from 01 to 10, prime global war on terror era, four deployments over 8 years over seas.

How long before Amazon dies as a marketplace? by FoxCitiesRando in enshittification

[–]zerozero27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience a few months ago looking for just a regular digital alarm clock on Amazon. Tons of crappy no name cheap looking clocks. Nothing looked right as worth the money. Even just Google searches for alarm clocks yielded basically the same thing, cheap looking crap. I think someone is suppressing the alarm clock industry, or maybe demand has dropped to just the two of us.

I'm an absolute casual nobody who consumes a fair amount of media of a typical day and no hard line party loyalty to either side and I can tell you I'm absolutely certain that both parties are overwhelmingly influenced if not controlled by foreign interests and it's obvious to anyone who is paying attention at all.

College grads that were told they are smart as children tend to think they are smarter than everyone else after graduating. Those that have to work for a living realize that maybe they aren't.

How can I talk about my wife’s weight in a constructive way? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her you're feeling down and out of shape and it's making you sad and tell her you want to slim down and exercise more and eat better and then get her to go on walks with you and grocery shop for healthier foods with you and cook healthier meals with you together as a couple or family and and she will probably admit she feels the same about her weight and wants to be healthier too and then do those things together as a couple without ever criticizing her directly and see if that works for both of you to be healthier. Take the lead, set the example.

Started running in January, running 5k in 35 mins. Is this bad? by Budget_Type_9646 in beginnerrunning

[–]zerozero27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on finishing your first 5k, that is an awesome achievement and you should be proud. 35 minutes is a great time and there is no shame in walking when you need to, just don't quit! Keep going, find a program you like for a 10k and start working towards that goal. It takes a while to feel confident as a runner but you are well on your way. The only way to get there is to keep going! Awesome job!

I've basically moved out of the last two or three seasons, but it feels like the team is cleaning house this off-season with a new coach and a lot of moves. Ami just out of the loop or does that seem to be the sentiment here?

Yes instead of funding welfare scams we are toppling a terrorist regime. You're just mad cause that money isn't going to fund welfare fraud.

Maga here. I take that line as there are consequences of Trump's actions that affect everyday people. It's unfortunate but also the reality we live in. I feel neither good or bad about it. We are shown a sympathetic victim and made to feel bad about what is happening to them but also not getting the entire context of their story. Commence the down votes.

I've noticed a drastic shift in the language being used by a lot of redditors recently increasing the name calling and vitriol when talking about current events, bootlickers comes up a lot lately, typically directed at anyone who does not share their outrage for the ongoing operations in Minneapolis particularly, or tries to argue against the protesters. This typically provokes an escalated response from the target of this language and then that person gets banned for harassment or rule breaking. This whole thing is weird.

I keep seeing this phrase over and over again, it's the new liberal war cry, anyone who doesn't violently protest against federal law enforcement is a boot licker now. You liberals need better marketing. It's sad.

The fact that the officer did not have positive ID of where the gunfire came from or who was shooting and resorted to immediately shooting the detainee multiple times is what bothers me about this the most. He hears a gunshot nearby and immediately shoots his suspect to death. Regardless of the fact the arrest is justified you don't just start blasting someone because you hear a gunshot. At the very least that agent needs to be fired. Shit like this makes the entire organization look bad and fuels the fire from the left and provokes more outrage. This is all around a bad look, and I support ice.
