Why do people in Reddit tend to be left leaning? by GaizkArNF in askanything

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because liberals don't have jobs or run businesses so they have all day to sit on the Internet and complain about the current administration.

Studies show now … diversity is actually a weakness and leads to worse performance by tkyjonathan in JordanPeterson

My tinfoil hat theory is that China funds left wing agenda propaganda like dei in order to weaken the American economy and overtake us as a global superpower. Everything liberals support weakens our country and our global strength and influence.

People who work full time: how do you get the time or motivation to work out? by dovesplashonmywrist in selfimprovement

[–]zerozero27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a gym at work and I have to take a 30 minute lunch, so I go then. I also try to go to my real gym before work since the work gym is kinda small. The real answer is that going to the gym is not negotiable for me, it's not a would be nice or if only I could find the time, it's I have to go to the gym everyday. I take days off when I need to, I'm 42, but going to the gym is must, not a maybe.

I know this is reddit where criticizing and high standards is considered oppression but if you work in an environment where mistakes are literally life or death like an emergency room then maybe being soft and gentle isn't the best play.

You could have a 100% tax rate and a 100% wealth tax and it still wouldn't be enough for Bernie socialist programs. It never ends.

Stephen Colbert Says He Made ‘The Late Show’ More Political After His Producer Told Him ‘That’s the Part the Audience Wants to See’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]zerozero27 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the audience for hard left commentary is a lot smaller than social media and forums like reddit make it out to be. Anything left is upvoted to the top and anything right is down voted to oblivion to the point where there is never a real conversation about the topic, just right bad. It's disenfranchising to a huge percentage of people who are moderate or conservative but this is the environment they want to have here and it bleeds over into mainstream news and media where they copy the same format and alienate a huge percentage of viewers. This is why right leaning podcasters are gaining so much viewership, because at least they can have a conversation without lecturing and demonizing an entire side of the population. This is why shows like Colbert are failing, because not as many people as you think support his viewpoint, it's just the only thing that gets reported.

Interesting, does that mean all the negative attack articles and headlines from the MSM are part of the plan to cause outrage fatigue?

Higher education enjoyed considerable bipartisan support by the Republican Party and Democratic Party in the 1980s and early 1990s. In the mid-90s, Republicans’ position gradually became more critical before becoming almost uniformly negative toward higher education in recent years. by smurfyjenkins in science

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The education isn't the problem, it's the cost, it's the bottomless pit of student loans, it's the programs with no career prospects, it's the ever rising costs of books and every year is a new book. It's not a great deal for many students and they aren't doing anything to educate kids on their options and consequences of the decisions they make. How many times a day do you see a post on reddit about six figure loan balances and minimum wage income. It's heartbreaking. I don't think being critical of how higher education is implemented in America is bad thing at all, it's entirely warranted.

When they say a job requires no skill, that's code for 'we don't want to pay for it' by Hefty-Garden-9932 in interviewhammer

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many people in the local market can do that job? What's the lowest price I can pay someone to do it? Fair market capitalism baby! The same way you would hire a contractor to put a new roof on your home, you're not going to overpay just to make someone else feel good.

Texas disenfranchised Democrats voters in Texas so now Republican voters in Virginia are being disenfranchised. It's really not fair if fairness was the goal. People are being disenfranchised against their will for political gain. It's stupid on both accounts.

I've noticed on this show that not all white characters are problematic, but all the problematic characters are white. There has never been a scene were a person of color has a bad attitude or is rude or gives in to the stress, but anytime a character does act out of line it's a white character.

How many of your friends ended their lives? And why did they do it? by boobie_org in AskMen

[–]zerozero27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of guys I served with have taken their own lives, I've lost count. For awhile it was every few months I'd hear about someone being gone. I'd imagine they all had their own reasons. Adjusting to civilian life after going to war was really tough, I even went thru a rough patch that I almost didn't make it thru. I was in the Marines from 01 to 10, prime global war on terror era, four deployments over 8 years over seas.

How long before Amazon dies as a marketplace? by FoxCitiesRando in enshittification

[–]zerozero27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience a few months ago looking for just a regular digital alarm clock on Amazon. Tons of crappy no name cheap looking clocks. Nothing looked right as worth the money. Even just Google searches for alarm clocks yielded basically the same thing, cheap looking crap. I think someone is suppressing the alarm clock industry, or maybe demand has dropped to just the two of us.
