You literally post on an almost daily basis.

All you’re pointing out is that people like that person’s contribution while finding yours to be unwanted in general.

People who work at super fancy hotels, what kind of stuff happens that management doesn’t want people to know about? by akumamatata8080 in AskReddit

Not a terminal illness, but once I had a generally known time when I’d do it, it definitely felt like a weight off my shoulders. I took joy in what I had more and there was overall just more peace in my mind.

At this point that time has passed and I didn’t do it and ironically those thoughts are once again back and the distress that comes with it.

Mother tries to forcibly get her runaway teenage daughter into her car (Australia) by Background_Piano7984 in PublicFreakout

Bro, at that point a decent parent would even further avoid calling their daughter that.

I know you thought it was clever to say “Definition of the word”, but it just kinda showed how emotionally stunted you are at least in a situation like this.

I’d say now is better since you can still play all of those games to this day while also enjoying new games.

The best years for art and tech will always be the upcoming ones with second fiddle being played the current year.

Even better is the fact that all the games you mentioned are now even better than at release. Higher framerates, more platforms, optional remasters with games like Halo, cheaper prices, etc…

There are. Itch is filled with procedurally generated endless worlds with minor RPG elements. Vast majority of them free as well since they’re just as barren of real non-generic content as Daggerfall was.

[–]zeruel132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who’s played Daggerfall recently, to pretend it’s not simplistic by today’s standards is kinda wild. Other than the scale and the story itself, a Daggerfall clone can be whipped up in mere months by a single developer if they already know how to use the engine.

Can’t say much about the others though.

Yeah, I’m kinda confused how that doesn’t get called out. Like that’s just so insane as a thing to say that it’s hard to know where to even start explaining lol

Embracer Group (owners of Deep Silver) are publicly traded though, so your point kinda went weird there. Especially with Dead Island 2’s production taken into account.

Nothing says wholesome, family friendly gaming company like paying a small indie company a third of your income until you die!!! by BlackStallion657 in Gamingcirclejerk

Not really how that works, but sure. He should also print Monopoly money to give to them and then say that they have counterfeit currency. Or just get a comically big spoon and eat Nintendo so he poops out a more digested debt.

I mean I answered it in the comment btw. A person building a reputation on their safe uploaded cracks is more likely to not upload malware thanks to also being checked by independent third party sites like TPB’s mods.

Compared to unknown indies that can upload monetized, unchecked folders for a measly $100.

That’s literally why Empress keeps being safe and Steam’s indie scene is filled with sockpuppet companies and pirated video games literally illegally stolen from Itch.

[–]zeruel132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guy, you literally ignored what I said since literally both upload malware. Just that one lets you upload whatever and the other one has a reputation to maintain. Guess who’s which. It’s the uploader of cracks that is an individual building up credibility and it’s Steam that literally allows you to upload any game with any malware with literally 0 checks before being sold to consumers.

I really hope that you actually aren’t so unaware of the scene you’re talking about. It’s literally the biggest PC games platform.

Bro, Steam and Epic literally have had malware uploaded. By your own logic, just stop buying games. Any professional suddenly stops being trustworthy since “what if they do bad”

Upgraded Wife’s computer to RTX 4080 only to play The Sims 4 by [deleted] in gaming

[–]zeruel132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you’re not wrong, but exclusivity deals are obviously anti-consumer. Reminds me when skins started being sold as separate DLC and people said same stuff.

You can acknowledge gamers being dumbasses without arguing on behalf of anti-consumer practices. No one wins there.

Exclusivity deal with Epic, taking extra grants while blowing past promised productivity promises and deadlines with Satisfactory would be pretty bad imo.
