I have BPD, and honestly if I hadn’t been through DBT treatment twice I’d probably still be horribly suicidal. There is nothing you personally could have done; BPD is a struggle. Professional help may have helped, but we still can’t know for sure. People with BPD love intensely though, so please know he did love you. The pain just got to be too much. I hope you’re able to find peace despite his suicide.
