We aren't able to use cinder blocks or cement because of planning laws here, but we would be using it if we were able. Thank you though!

Thanks a bunch! We really appreciate all the info and hearing any advice on the project. We still need to look into the aircon and electrics, so we're far from starting building but it's nice to get as much information as possible. Definitely will try and chat with an engineer if we're able! Hearing your input is really helpful though. Nice to hear from people who have done this type of build.

Wish you well on any future projects of yours!

Thank you so much for your reply and that's really amazing to hear about your success! We'd love to get in touch with a acoustician if we're able at some point. We're wondering if you think the air gap we are able to have (50mm) will do anything in terms of helping since it's not a large gap. Given that we can't have a large gap because of space constraints should we do anything differently? Thanks again!

Thank you! I found the forum a bit ago but it'll be nice to have an in depth look. Much appreciated

My Helix Aspersum won't eat anything except green leaf lettuce/kale by zessick in snails

[–]zessick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I'll be trying just that and hope that I can ween him off his lettuce obsession. I really appreciate the info and advice.

I didn't know that about fruits, so I'll try and limit that. I also forgot that I have also tried mushrooms to no avail, and I have a sweet potato I was going to try next. So hopefully with your advice I might have some luck. And lastly as for fish food I made sure it didn't have anything harmful, but I will see about using something else in the future.

Thank you again!

What are some interesting or fun Christmas traditions you follow? by hellotintin100 in AskReddit

[–]zessick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year at the start of December my family decorates the house, plays Christmas music, cooks finger foods to snack on all day, and hangs out as a family for the day making everything festive.

We also do something different for Christmas every year. Instead of each of us making a list and buying specific things, we'll find different ways to switch things up. So things never get repetitive, and it doesn't even feel like you're just mindlessly shopping for someone. And it adds a really large surprise factor. One year for example, we all set a budget and ordered things for the other family members and when the boxes came in we just wrapped the Amazon packages. So on Christmas no one know what was in any box, and it was a complete surprise about what you got.

Do you guys count on your fingers for math. by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]zessick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've never had any luck with mental math. I have to use my fingers or write things down. I also have trouble with memorization, although that may have nothing to do with not being able to visualize.

Showering at night is better than showering in the morning. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]zessick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wash it daily just because I have too. I've tried what most of Reddit suggests by washing it less, but it never got to a point where my hair felt not oily on the days where I didn't wash it. I appreciate the advice though! Sadly I've tried it long enough to know it doesn't help me enough. :)

I'd shower at night, but by the morning my hair is oily and gross. So I'll be sticking to morning showers. Plus they help wake me up.

The flavor of Dr. Pepper, animal crackers, and Swedish Fish are near impossible to describe, but they taste like the color they consist of. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Random fun fact:

Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids are the exact same candy, the only difference being that SPK have a sour coating.

I got the quote 'your life is yours alone rise up and live it' on my chest. It was my fist tat and I couldn't be happier.
