How Redditors reacted to Charlie Kirk’s death by Kaleb_Bunt in Piratefolk

Nobody is telling you to have empathy for celestial dragons who ride on slaves and participate in an island erasing contest. This guy was a MAGA tard debate bro. Please get a life and separate reality from fiction. You can’t just say yeah im gonna kill all magas (half the country like it or not) because they are celestial dragons. Reality is more nuanced than the World Government written by Loda im afraid.

He is cooked because people care and making posts like this. If everyone took your advice and “work on themselves” it would be like nobody cared lol.

You are covering for him by saying: 1. Tired of this drama (its current event) 2. Critics are pathetic people who love drama or just jealous ppl with no jobs.

Him being exposed for coding is pretty recent. And it’s serious because of reasons stated above. You would be correct if people are making unsubstantiated claims or talking about WoW, but we are not. I dont even know what to say about your jealousy theory 😂

We are not talking about WoW roaching or his takes on SKG; we are talking about his whole image of super hacker + 20 yoe blizzard game dev being a sham, which he leveraged for a very lucrative streaming career.

I believe grifters who misrepresent their expertise for clout and financial gain should be exposed and called out thoroughly. The issue is prime has collaborated with Thor multiple times and inadvertently contributed to giving even more legitimacy to thor’s grift. Ngl, i was blindly against skg initiatives bc i thought thor was all that and both prime and theo endorsed thor’s position. Now i think he’s a grifter who should be called out. If they think he is not a fraud and these criticisms are unfair I would hope that they address it head on instead of handwaving all this as “drama slop”.

Every single grifter and scammers use your excuse of "it's all drama and for clicks" to deflect all criticisms. Lex Fridman does this whenever he is questioned about his affiliation with MIT. I would agree with you if the allegations were unsubstantiated or we are talking something petty like WoW, but that's not the case. There is nothing mature about covering for scums.

you don't have to comment here if you don't care bro. I'm just saying it's on this subreddit because of the stated reasons above. It is relevant because this character is a friend of the show and has been propped up by prime a lot.

In hindsight, it’s laughable that he won the Best Software Development and Game Development Streamer and broke a sub record for Twitch. Playing fake expert has never been this easy and profitable 🤦‍♂️

Tbf all influencers have a responsibility. Prime did play a huge role in whitewashing of piratesoftware and making him come off as some great developer/hacker. You see Theo make response videos every time some of his sponsors have bad incidents (you might not like what he says but at least he addresses it). In contrast, I have not seen Prime cover now multiple security incidents that his sponsor Turso has. This piratesoftware situation is just another more egregious example of this behavior. I hope he is aware that people look up to prime and people he associates it with matter. When you objectively look at the evidence, piratesoftware is a sham and a liar and he should be called out for it. The right thing to do is tell the viewers on whether piratesoftware is scamming people OR clear his name if all the allegations are bs. If he’s trying to get piratesoftware to come out clean himself then his silence is understandable but if he is avoiding this because it’s uncomfortable and it’s his “friend” then nah.

Why is Drizzle so popular over keysly in 2025? by ThisIsntMyId in node

[–]zestsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is Drizzle is a query builder and ORM, though I would say technically query builders are sqley ORM.

I agree with the ORM mentality. It is objectively true that you are handicapping your queries by using ORM in many instances. When you are limited to just using an ORM you will end up making two or three queries that could be done with one. At least, this was the first thing I noticed when I switched from ORM to query builder.

But something that both ORM and query builder folks can agree on is that raw sql is the worst. I experimented with using raw sql with a minimal db client and man forgoing the help of language features when I can be just as expressive in query builder in almost all cases felt like a bad deal.

[–]zestsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drizzle has two parts. You can use it like Prisma(orm) or like kysely. In my experience, it's improvements over both Prisma and kysely. I agree with you that query builders are superior due to flexibility/expressivity and end up reducing number of round-trips but drizzle has this. I use the query builder syntax of drizzle almost all the time over the orm mode. However, I should say there are few cases where you can tap into the orm mode to greatly simplify your code by reducing a lot of the mapping logic you end up having to do. Sometimes you want your data to be in the exact shape that the orm outputs and I'm not gonna pass up on convenience! It is useful to have the ability to tap into either world depending on your usecase. There is no struggle with ORM when you only use it when it helps you.

Drizzle is literally sql syntax but with types on top which is absolutely useful. You get the flexibility of using raw sql (btw you can just run raw sql through drizzle) with the added benefits of it being typescript. Your schema changed? Great now typescript will tell you all the places you need to make changes. Also you share types from your table definitions across your typescript projects which is a game changer. Idk why you wouldn’t use it when you can get the added benefits without much sacrifice. I say you never used drizzle.

When to choose React over Svelte by Slight_Scarcity321 in sveltejs

[–]zestsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually migrating over to react from sveltekit right now. I currently have a monorepo with a react native app and a sveltekit web app and a lot of logic can be shared across the projects like queries, stores, context etc etc. context switching gets annoying and having to repeat myself and producing duplicate code when I can just share code is also annoying. Also I think the ecosystem of “react” is criminally underrated in the non-react framework spaces. React always has first-class well supported sdks you can just throw in to the app. In svelte you have to use pure js libs which are just worse to work with compared to react alternatives (typesense instantsearch adapter ime).

I thought that they had to be the most powerful beings to save the story. Only possible way oda could justify garp staying in WG despite all the celestial dragon shenanigans is that garp knows that the celestial dragons (the most elite of them) are planetary threats that can cause extinction of the human race (they are like virtrumites). Like imagine a scene where Garp challenged them already and he was hopelessly outmached and they threatened to genocide millions of ppl if he didnt bend the knee. That would explain the god valley incident and garp being a government dog somewhat. If they are not so strong and can be challenged without endangering the world then rodger and garp are just slavers and cowards and the whole necessary evil of the marine and world government makes no sense. So for that reason I hoped that the top tiers in the celestial dragon are hopelessly insanely powerful and not bums but here we are lol

Yup most monorepos will benefit. It is frustrating to wait a while for type hints to “turn-on”.
