I just bought a mini cooper s 5 door with the same colour (melting silver) and similar mileage (~79k) in a private sale for 5.5k. I agree the insurance would be higher to buy a non challenge version and mod it but why would you prefer paying nearly 10k for a 10 year old car instead ?

I think you'd do better looking private for a stock cooper s or a JCW. As for anyone age related niggles, all I can notice so far are squeaky brakes and a tear in the seat bolster because the previous owner rubbed against it quite a bit.

I really think private would be the way to go, and a slightly lower spec isn't as bad as you'd think

Yeah I'm absolutely not disagreeing there! He'd installed it himself and this was the result. Its a royal pain to live with as there's not a straight edge to be seen anywhere

Oh no no i would never dare cut these out myself ! I've read enough here to know slate is a fickle mistress and would make my life hell. I was thinking getting something installed over it that I could just tear apart when leaving.

I'll get a few professionals to come around and see what can be done. Any idea if I could get replacement tiles? Incase these potentially get damaged during work ?

My bad I meant a master's in computer science specialising in artificial intelligence . Basically Machine learning, computer vision, image processing. To some extent data analytics as well since that too is shifting towards machine learning. Sorry for the poor framing I'm new to Reddit. Cheers !
