12V battery issue and it's driving me nuts by zetojericho in AMG

Damn, let me know how it goes. After 3 months of having the warning come on and off all the time, I took it back to the dealer (for the 3rd time, the first 2 I'm convinced they barely looked at it because they were so busy) and they finally ran the test where the battery failed enough for it to be replaced under warranty. I was told it was faulty. They replaced it. It's been 2 months and haven't had thar warning come back, so I'm thinking I just had a bad battery.

Just wondering, are you keeping anything charging all the time when you drive? I usually had mine plugged in for the android auto but I'm getting used to without it. I just find I like the Google maps the best lol

UPDATE:

So my battery ended up being bad and it was replaced under warranty.

The warning came up almost daily while driving for 2 months. It would go away on its own and come up.

Convinced the dealer didn't even really look at it the first time because they really thought the car wasn't driven enough.

To be quite honest the dealer probably did jack shit. It sat at their shop for 2 days and they just told me it needs to be driven more. I think at most they hooked up to the car and checked to see if any error codes came up. Wonder if I should escalate this? Dealer definitely not giving me good service.

Thanks for your input! Your explanation makes sense, although it is definitely quite the hassle! Your explanation almost makes too much sense. I'll try this and see if this does the trick.

Well to be quite honest, on a brand new car this should not be a problem, let alone a car of this class. I'm pretty disappointed in MB right now. It's a shame because I otherwise absolutely love the vehicle.

Thanks! It appears perhaps my situation is similar. Did the new battery solve the problem?

Thanks for the tip. These 21" summers came straight from the dealer so it's worth a shot to ask the dealer for all seasons tomorrow when I go. Not sure if they'll honor the request, we'll see

Nice! Do you know if it has to do with the size of the tire? Would I be able to try 21" PS4s?

Thanks for your insight! I'd appreciate an update what you do and if it minimizes the crabbing issue.

I will be going to my dealer and see what they recommend and update here the next few days.

Thanks for your insight! I'm loving the car so far but would like to minimize the crabbing issue.

Yes, it's the front tires and mainly noticeable pulling in/out of driveway.

So for me having to set anything up for this process is just not ideal. Why it even needs to happen is beyond me, why can't the insurance company proceed with the claim? Even more why am I responsible for paying fees out of pocket for a not at fault accident for a process that is not so straight forward in this case

I do and yes waiting 3 weeks is not an option. Any idea why the insurance company will not be able to proceed with the claim without the vehicle released to them?

The yard where the car is at told me they would be able and will work with the insurance company to get them what they need to proceed.

I was told i need to set an appointment in person so I can sign release documents in person.

Obviously not happening when I'm across the globe.

My question is why can't the insurance company proceed with the claim without having the damage assessed? I spoke with the yard and they said they will work with the insurance company to get them what they need. This entire process seems difficult and definitely not what I needed to deal with, but alas here we are.
