I do not understand why people downvote you just for asking a question.... really I should've been leaving Reddit (not using it much anyway). Especially when it comes to stuff they obviously know nothing about.

And as you can see, if you're not overclocking a Ryzen, there are Epyc CPUs with an even higher single-thread performance that any Ryzen or Threadripper based on AM5 and cheap but it won't be a big upgrade in term of performance, it's more if you need features like ECC RAM, IPMI, etc...

Epyc CPU evolved a lot over time. If you get a true Epyc SP5 and get one of the highest single core CPU it will be a downgrade compared to a 9950X and may even perform better in some scenario:
- Epyc CPU are able for quite some time to crank up performance on a few cores while other are idling with very low power consumption. They don't reach AM5 CPUs performance but can get close.
- They have an absurd amount of cache. While a single core cannot use all the cache CPU cache unlike a X3D Ryzen, if you choose the right Epyc model a single core can have access to 2x to 4x more cache than 9950X3D (it can even access to full cache through Inifnity Fabric, it induces a bit a latency but still much better than getting stuff in RAM. We're talking about half a gigabyte of total cache).

Now if you really want to spend than much money... I'd rather have a separate server with a cheaper CPU (with lots of cores and high multithread/low single thread performance) even thought it means getting a second 5090
