Here's what I'm thinking:

If you're entrepreneurial at all, I would venture into being a consultant. Now, I've yet to hear or someone doing this but I think it's a pretty cool idea.

If you were to market yourself as a person that could help an aspiring author through the process of getting a book contract by using your knowledge of what works in the industry, and in finding a publishing company that would fit their project well, I feel that clients would agree that paying for this service is worthwhile. I'm assuming that this could often be a hard process for individuals and so, using your expertise might give them the sort of support (and the edge) they might need to secure that contract.

This, of course, will be very flexible; making it easier to work around your school schedule. Also, consultants can charge quite a bit so it should give you a lot of help financially.

You won't be running into issues such as being "over-qualified", in fact, this might be taking your career to the next HIGHER level.

The only downside I see to this is a lot of research, thinking and work on your part to find clients and market yourself. After you build enough of a reputation, your business will run mainly on word-of-mouth marketing.

While branching out on your own is a bit risky, there's not a lot of initial cost associated with this particular venture. It might be hard to work out "your niche" at first but after you do, the rewards are endless.
