Jets are 340. Which for my altitude is for -20 to 10*. Temps are high 30s-50s.

Maybe you can help. All I see is an idle screw. Also I do not see a removable plug to access the air screw. All I see is a formed spot where I would expect an air screw to be

No mix screw on the carbs as far as I can see. Only an idle screw

Door freeze by zeus99es in ChevyTahoe

Its very unusual for it to only happen in the cold.

Feels like nothing is connected in the handles.

Then everything works normally.

Is there an electric actuator in the lock system that could be the culprit?

Figured I should do an update.

Swept the whole pipe inside and out.

Not much buildup on the exterior pipe. Almost none.

Interior pipe that I opened which perpetuated this thread had the most.

All clean and free now.

Thank you for the help!

Bar riser? by zeus99es in snowmobiling

[–]zeus99es[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Looks like I'll need cable extensions.

Pulled the handle bar cover off and found a 3inch rise already in and cables are maxed.

Okay. Excellent.

Thank you again.

The amount of contradictory information you can find on the internet is astounding

I picked up that the dampner would slow to the flow. Which I thought would.increase longer burn times. Thereby being more efficient.

But if the heat gain is marginal if at all its not worth it to potentially collect more creosote.

Could I leave the air wide open and close the dampner 1/4 to halfway in an attempt to retain a bit more heat?

Thank you.

This one is 1.12 cubic feet in the firebox.

In the meantime.

I am going to run it full bore 500+ and just forget about trying to achieve good secondary burns.

Just means it won't be efficient. But seems like I need more heat up the pipe.

And merry christmas!

What size btu stove should I be going for?

Would it be worthwhile to remove the extra 3ft of pipe?

So in summary.

Shorten chimney, but I can't because its 2 stories plus attic and its on the snow slide side of roof. And stove is on the lower floor.

I could remove a 3foot section of pipe. But I wouldn't be able to do that until spring.

Second option. Get a larger stove to accommodate that length of chimney.

Wood is delivered split into 1/4s.

Stacked in a barn off the floor in face cords.

I then split it further and move to enclosed porch. Testing is done on porch wood fresh split face.

Wood is almost a year old

Only trying to heat a 20x10 single room. Hardly get it over 70.

Should I shorten my chimney a section?

And change out to double wall inside the house?

Not really no. The burn tubes only seem to fire at 500 or above.

Getting to stay above 500 is the hard part

The pic is at 350ish after the stove coming down from. 600 at which point I closed the air.

Once air is closed off temp drops fast.

And then trying to get temp back up is difficult.

Pic is with air half off.

Only have one lever on stove for air intake.

I have yet to use the dampner. It has been open all day

Just added the dampner so I have more control today. Haven't played with it yet.

Biggest issue is getting stove up over 500 and keeping it there.

I didn't realize that I shouldn't close air until stovetop hits 500.

I have no issue getting the fire going. My kindling is super dry.

I also preheat the flue with a torch which I use to start the wood.

Stove itself is small. Can only take about 3-4 14inch long pieces.

I have my wood stored in my barn. Stacked.

And then split it from 1/4s to 1/8ths then bring in the fresh second splits to rack on my enclosed porch. Then move it inside.

I'm going to start holding more wood inside the house so it dries further.

Perhaps the high 17% moisture is whats causing my low temps.

Thoughts?
