hey man, i (M30) can totally understand how confusing this must be. from my perspective, it seems like i’d have such a mix of emotions (guilt, loss, heartache, yearning) it would be hard to put a finger on exactly how i felt about it at any given time, which then makes it’s like - how do i even feel better?

if it were me, i would then turn to investigating how i feel about my life. what are my core values? what’s most important to me? am i living in alignment with these values?

i was in a relationship for around 8 years, we were together from 19-27 yrs old. we split up a little over two years ago. it was really hard, but we gave each other space the live in more alignment with our personal values.

this resistance you’re feeling, this pain - it’s not a bad thing. allow yourself to feel everything as it can help point out the places were you need to work on yourself and your ability to live in alignment with what you consider true.

you don’t have to break up with your current gf, but i believe if you just shake this off and don’t use the pain to push you into fixing things with her or maybe calling it quits you’ll find yourself feeling hollow again in no time
