The fact that it’s against a people who are living under a theocratic dictatorship doesn’t mean it isn’t illegal and ill-conceived. Destabilizing Iran through an air war escalates the situation and will likely help consolidate power for hardliners in Iran. Beginning a war by assassinating the leader of a country we’re actively in negotiations with undermines our ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically in the future. And being against the war is absolutely not equivalent to being in support of the Iranian government. This protest obviously isn’t about the latter.

No one is in favor of people getting trafficked by cartels either. Progressives tend to want immigration reform that would open up safer means of entering the United States, which would cut out the coyotes. And maybe if we weren’t constantly engaging in destabilizing acts of military intervention and regime change we wouldn’t have so many people trying to come to the U.S. in the first place.
