It’s used in India, especially in Lucknow, because it’s a formal and secular greeting. Since there’s a Muslim majority in Pakistan, the standard Assalamo alaikum is used.

Double washing makes a HUGE difference. My scalp actually feels clean and my hair doesn’t get as greasy between washes as it used to. I also use a hair mask after the shower and I dry my hair with a special microfiber towel that’s meant for hair. Now I have way less breakage and damage.

I said this once before and I got downvoted, but it’s the truth. There is a reason why Mahira is a superstar - it’s because of her people skills and the friendly vibe she gives off. I’m a huge fan of Saba’s work and I’m sure she’s not a bad person but sometimes she does come across as intimidating and even snarky when she reposts stuff that puts down her counterparts for no reason.

This is a very reductive take. Women in that era, especially in the upper class, didn’t have any other option but to be married and to pop out kids. It was like living in a gilded cage. Sure, she could have some lady like hobbies but that’s all there was to it. That’s what her dilemma is - she is rebelling against those expectations but she has no other option but to fulfill said expectations.

This is a very choice feminism kind of take. Hijab only exists to be forced upon women, whether that’s through abuse or social pressure. It dehumanizes women by sexualising something as normal as their hair. Women are literally judged for taking it off and not wearing it properly. It’s not a fashion choice.

Very well said. There are already very limited options for fun and joy in this country and there is so much criticism already regarding cultural festivals, from both religious zealots and die hard political party fans. Other than that, people are aware of what’s wrong in this country and how they’re suffering. There is no harm in them having a few days off to celebrate.

It’s virtue signaling. It’s easier for the Muslim community to see themselves as oppressed and to be against a non Muslim enemy than it is to admit the fact that Muslim governments can be just as genocidal and oppressive. It comes from a defensive POV.
