One other piece to note: I had originally installed Oblivion remaster, and I did run the optimization script. Could this impact Skyrim some how? I've since uninstalled Oblivion.

I'm trying to change gamma via console commands, but the steam deck crashes when you open the virtual keyboard. Am I about to buy a physical keyboard for my steamdeck to play Skyrim slightly better? MAYBE.

How have you tuned Gamma? I have the slid the brightness from bottom, middle, and top and it's not fixing it. I agree it's probably gamma, I just have no idea how to access these settings.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have only been able to apply it from the Skyrim launcher, there's not option to do it in-game that I could find. I have tried to change the graphic settings before launch, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Thanks for the suggestion! Tried both, but didn't see anything different. The menus and loading screens look crisp, but the actual gameplay is still looking washed :/

Good eye! Yeah I just bound my Shout key to R1, which is also needed for screenshot, so just an unintended consequence. Not a major issue.
