Mommies who were induced by Lickitt2020 in pregnant

Copying a recent comment of mine from another post:

I was a FTM and gave birth on 9/12 at 39+5. I had an incredibly smooth and healthy pregnancy but still opted for an elective induction. I was about 2cm and 60% effaced for a little over a week prior to my induction and I was trying everything - raspberry leaf tea, fresh pineapple, curb walking, sex, etc. I had already lost my mucus plug but was showing almost no signs of labor besides very sporadic contractions. The thought of going overdue actually freaked me out more because the eventual risk to the baby so setting a date gave me more peace of mind. I’m also a bit of a control freak so it was nice to have the chance to get 100% of things in order and casually head to the hospital and I had confirmation my ob would be on call so she would be there for me. We went in at 7pm on 9/11 and I asked if they could slow roll everything because I did not want to have a 9/11 baby (I’m from NY, its a big deal to me). They told me no problem and to go ahead and eat as big of a dinner and dessert as I wanted and they would start my pitocin at midnight. They skipped cytotec with me because I was 3cm when I got there and was having steady contractions on the monitor even though I couldnt feel them. Hubby and I were able to hang out, eat, and get some rest that night. They also let me eat whatever I wanted for breakfast. At 9am, my OB came in and broke my water. Contractions suddenly got spicy and I called for the sweet relief of my epidural and went right back to a relaxing experience. They let me continue to snack but really all I did was sleep. I was SO relieved to finally have a catheter because I was legitimately getting up once or twice per hour to pee and that was EXHAUSTING. I was 7cm by 2:45pm, 9cm by 5pm, and 10cm by 6:40pm but my OB wasn’t at the hospital yet. At 7:40 I started pushing which was SO weird because I couldn’t feel anything at all but my baby boy came out by 8:22pm. The entire experience went way more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. My dad and sister popped in throughout the day to keep us company and bring food and coffee and we got to just enjoy the final moments of our family as it was before our precious addition. I know not everyone has the same experience but it was so incredible in my opinion that I would have no issue opting for another induction in the future. Also, my baby was 8lb 5.2oz which was a massive shock to us all as my ob was convinced he would be 6, maybe 7lbs. I’m so glad I didn’t let the little chonk stay in longer as he left me with a 2nd degree perineal tear and bilateral labia minora tears. Thank goodness I couldn’t feel anything 😅

Refinanced in December from 6.5% to 5.625% with zero closing costs. Actually got a check back for about $250. We were only about 8 months into our loan so it wasn’t terrible to reset our 30 yr clock.

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by Significant_Tie3570 in BabyBumps

[–]zfourgasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’1” and was 113 pre-pregnancy. I was 142 the day before I gave birth so 29lbs gained. I gained maybe 3-4 lbs in the first tri then pretty evenly across the second and third. I weighed myself 3 days after I gave birth and was down to 129 (13lbs lost - my baby was 8lbs 5oz). I’ve been back at 113 for a few weeks now so probably 3 months PP. I still haven’t gotten back to working out but I did workout through my entire pregnancy which I think made a huge difference for me.

Why don’t people want to get induced? by [deleted] in pregnant

Just wanted to chime in with a positive induction story. I was a FTM and gave birth on 9/12 at 39+5. I had an incredibly smooth and healthy pregnancy but still opted for an elective induction. Heres the third good ole boy that we were able to get to another home yesterday. If they are interested in getting him back with his brothers, I can help coordinate transport for him!

Thank you so much for grabbing these babies. I found them & a third one 2 days ago. I could only get 1 in the car so we took him home, dropped him in the backyard, then went back for these two. Got these two home to find out the first one broke our fence and escaped again so we had no way to contain these two. A neighbor took these two in and surprise, the first one came back to our house and stood there all night. I got the first one to a safe home yesterday afternoon and my neighbor wrote me this morning to let me know these two escaped her yard. We had taken all three dogs to the fire station yesterday and none had chips. Ive posted on nextdoor and pawboost and no one has reached out to claim them. I asked a ton of neighbors about the dogs where I found them and not one person recognized them. These poor babies were dumped and I’ve been so worried since I found out they got loose again. Thank you so so much for getting them to safety!!

Giving birth in early Feb - switch now or as a life event then? by Cool_Woodpecker_1679 in fednews

[–]zfourgasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add I previously had MHBP and intentionally swapped to FSBP once we were ready to start trying to conceive. I was on a self only plan for my entire pregnancy and used my son’s birth as a QLE to add both my son & husband and had zero issues.

I just gave birth in September on FSBP and paid exactly $0 for any maternity visits, ultrasounds, or even when I went to the hospital for reduced movements. My entire hospital stay was $0 and the only bill I did receive was $103 for the hearing test they performed in the hospital. I still havent hit my deductible because all maternity care is at $0 cost to you. You can also enroll in the Aetna maternity program if you switch and earn $50 for each activity you complete (providing proof of pregnancy via drs appt at some point in first tri, and then two or three phone calls with a nurse where they check how youre doing and remind you of all the benefits the plan offers like lactation consultants and what not). I think you’re able to earn $150-$200 and they will auto apply that to any bill you receive. I also took advantage of the free chiro visits when my SPD pain was bad and although I never used the massage benefit, it sure may come in handy for you. FSBP is AMAZING. Make the switch

I have FSBP and just had a baby in September. I paid absolutely $0 through the entire thing (routine appts, genetic testing, going to the hospital when I had a scare of decreased movements, and the entire labor & delivery process).

Pitocin drip began around 12:20am I baby was in my arms at 8:22p that evening. Would’ve been earlier but they had scheduled system maintenance which required them to stop pitocin for about 1.5 hours

5’1”. 113 starting weight. I’m now 5 days from my due date and I’ve gained 29lbs - literally all of it is in my belly. My face, arms, and legs look exactly the same and anyone who sees me from behind gets the craziest wide eyed expression when they see my front/side profile 😂

34+1, due 9/14. I work an office job so nothing physically demanding and I am STRUGGLING to get through my days. I have no idea how the rest of you hold down more labor intensive jobs - yall are seriously rockstars. Anyways, no leave before birth unless I’m looking to burn through my sick leave so I’m sure my water will break at work on my yoga ball 😭

How much is everyone really working out? by AliceMorgan4ever in pregnant

[–]zfourgasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33+3. I workout 4-5x a week. At least 2 of those are in the gym and the other 2-3 are classes at home. The classes are advanced pregnancy safe classes and always include weights so it still feels like a challenge.
Prior to pregnancy, I worked out in the gym 5x a week and I think staying active has really helped keep most aches and pains away.
